UPDATE: Bag found!

So, I got the news last Sunday that the Contemporary had found my bag (despite a very early e-mail saying they hadn't, but they were still looking). So I go Sunday night to pick up up, and I'm told that they don't have it. Please note...I made a special trip to WDW because I was so relieved that they had found it.

The next day, I got a call from their Lost & Found department saying they DID have it, and they weren't sure why the front desk people didn't just...look. So, okay. Annoying, but still better than never seeing the bag again. I asked them to hold it until today, because I knew that I would be down for the R/C release.

So the bag was fine, all the pins were still in there- super yay! Now the part I hadn't told anyone yet...

The bag was my grail bag.

That one bag had a TON of "money" in pins in it. I would have been so screwed if it had never turned up. So whoever turned it in, whether it be Disney employee or hotel guest or fellow pin trader...thank you times infinity!

Gather round, kiddies, while Auntie Nicole tells you the story of how not to be a dumb@$$ while pin trading...

So, even though I've lost bags before, I never got around to putting my name and contact info in my bag anywhere. Mistake number 1. Lesson learned, I'm not going to another event without my info inside all the bags.

Lesson #2- Make sure all your bags fit inside your carrying case (if it applies). I don't think I would have lost it if I hadn't been bursting at the seams of my little cart.

and the obvious Lesson #3- Do a check around you before you move on. Now, generally speaking, I do this anyway. But it seems like I need to up my game. It's not the first time I've wandered away from a table and left something behind. Once, my purse. Once, my event pick-ups bag...sodas, etc. I just really need to compensate for my old age here or something.

Sigh.

Did anyone turn in a pin bag at the WDW PTN on February 28th? Or hear that one was turned in? Or maybe picked it up themselves?

Waiting to hear back from the Lost and Found company, but I just wanted to put feelers out in case someone saw something.

Yeah, thanks, guys. It's even worse than that, but I'm waiting to hear back from a couple of sources before I talk about it...

Doesn't sound like this time is a case of, "I thought I took it, but in reality it was just in a corner in the spare room I didn't notice after moving/unpacking."

:(

I remember seeing you briefly on Thursday, although I'm sorry never got to come over and say hi. Where were you sitting at in the room? Did you know your neighbors to get info from them? Maybe we should all have DPF buddies next pin event to help us out. It's really hard being one person at the event. I hope whatever happens, someone does the right thing and gets it back to you.

Yeah, exactly. That was a whole house move's worth of places it could be (and several months before I even noticed it missing). This is event-to-car-to-house, so not many places it could have gone.

Yeah, I was talking to my husband about exactly that thing. It's always worse when you're alone, and also worse when you're walking (because you're taking your bags in and out and in and out). The problem is that my walking cart doesn't hold all my bags well, so there are always one or two just stacked on top. Won't be doing that again, even if it means purging my pins down.

I'm pretty sure I had it up to the end. If I had to guess, I left it when Cyke and I were trading.

Adding my "Oh No" sadness and concern to the mix. :(

I'm sure you have but, check with Event Services (Debbie) as well as the Contemporary and Contemporary Convention Services.

Maybe it got left behind at the "after Event" trading at the hotel?

Really hope you can find it.

Oh noooooo! On that desk where we laid out pins? I hope you're able to get your bag back.

Yeah, more likely on the floor around there. I guess we'll see when the hotel/lost and found gets back to me.

Thanks, everyone. Fingers crossed.

So relieved for you. This is a great story for both the happy ending and the lessons learned.

I am going to go add contact info to my trader bags right now in prep for my upcoming trading events. Next one is only a bit over a week away. Yay!
