Ok DPF family. Wife and I are thinking of making a trip over to Disneyland next weekend. Never been during Spring Break. Is it normally crowded?

I mean never been to DLR during spring break but since WDW is supposed to be bad and DLR is nowhere near the size I'd estimate terrible to horrendous crowds....

That's what I figure.

Weekend + spring break = nightmare

I was warned not to go during spring break last year, and luckily my birthday (the reason for the trip) fell juuuusssttt after that season ended.

Not sure if the parks would reach capacity and stop admitting guests (DLR more than DCA) or if it's not THAT bad. Li or Omi might have good feedback on what to expect, though.

I try to avoid Spring Break. February and October are wonderful months to go.

It is harder now for the kids to miss school. :)

So for the first time ever, I agreed to go during Spring Break. Hope it isn't horrible.

Are you guys on spring break now? I mean yes when the schools near Dlr are on spring break it is torture. I know we do not go on spring break til the end of April. So what school district are you? If not by DLR you may be safer. Still the weekends are packed.

We're in Arizona. We don't have school age kids. Just taking a break for the weekend. We have Annual pass and need a get away.

Major problem with spring break is that the 1-12 schools rotate which weeks they're off, so no matter when, there's groups of families. The other factor is college, theres a lot of young adults hanging out. Weekends are tough, but if you hit Saturday, bottom 2 APs are blocked. Have Fun if you go:stitch:

Yeah. We're Signature pass holders so we're think the same. Go early and leave when it gets crazy.

Parts of Arizona are on Spring Break right now, my friends went to the park yesterday and said it was AWFUL. I looked up wait times on the app and indeed, things were very very long for a Wednesday. I didn't realize people were on Spring Break yet, but he said from overhearing convos everyone was from Arizona on their Spring Break. So yeah, I'd avoid?
I'd shoot for late April/early May when the Spring Break periods are over, but before the kiddos start getting out of school for summer (close to Memorial Day)

I'm not sure if its still the case but it used to be that DLR had four weeks considered spring break. As it was effected by spring breaks from the surrounding states as well as the local spring breaks. They used to have sheets for CM's designating a full month of time as "spring break" and peak crowds (thus more scheduled shifts for cm's). Though i do think it maybe slightly less this year with some families deciding to wait for SW land. On the other hand it may be that is made up by still more families wanting to get one final "normal" visit in before the kaos that is star wars opens up and makes the whole year spring break LOL.

Agree with those above that looking for the quiet places to sit and people watch can really take the stress off of the crowds. Plus there is always other things to do like the tours at the Grand Californian or their outdoor movie nights can also be a fun break in the action. Or if you have a car there are plenty of flower superblooms around here to look at that are amazing. also i believe we have a possible rain forcast next week so that may help slow the crowds at least a little bit.

Have fun!

I usually look at the crowd calendars at isitpacked.com to see the projected crowd level and plan my trips off that. It goes out 6 months or so. It’s not 100% accurate, but it’s pretty darn close.
That was site is really helpful. Thank you.
