My two favorite holiday movies are the original stop motion Rudolph cartoon, and The Santa Clause.
I've just always been in love with Rudolph, I'm not entirely sure why or where it came from. I remember renting the vhs tape all year long until later on when I was finally able to buy a copy. I still remember seeing The Santa Clause in theaters. We saw it a few times, our family were big fans of Home Improvement.

And while not specifically for the holidays, I'll share my grandmother's beef stew recipe! It's my favorite thing when the weather is cold
4 lbs of meat cut into cubes
2 cans petite diced tomatoes
2 of the large soft cartons of beef broth
1 can vegetable broth
12 carrots peeled and cut into coins
5 lbs russet potatoes Cut into cubes
1 bag frozen sweet corn

Cut up meat into cubes
2 cups Flour, add Lawreys, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper and mix.
Squeeze meat in flour, shake, then put in pan (too much flour will burn, change oil and wash pan)
Brown meat slowly without crowding
Put it all in the crock pot on high for 3-4 hours, check it and stir it up. Add additional seasoning as desired while it cooks.
Check the potatoes and carrots to make sure they are tender. Add corn last 30 mins.

Protips:
Cut veggies early (night before) put in water and add lemon. You can cut meat too, but cut only, or you can just cheat and buy the precut stew meat, it works just as well!
You might need more liquid, I typically add more veggie broth or chicken broth, I don't use water since it loses flavor.

Our weather has recently shifted to freezing cold (Ohio winters...gotta love them), this sounds so good right now

My favorite Christmas movie is the Rankin Bass Rudolph the red nosed reindeer.

I’ve watched this ever year of my childhood and my adulthood. It’s sweet, with a great message to us “misfits”... you are special in your own way.

Makes me cry every time I watch it.

My oldest son LOVES all the Rankin Bass movies....has them all on DVD

My favorite holiday traditions: getting to empty our stockings on the first night of Hanukkah, lighting the candles, dreidel wars with my brother (R.I.P.), opening presents with my extended family, and taking bags of donations to our retired Marine friend for Toys for Tots.

My favorite holiday movie is Miracle on 34th Street (the original!). I also love Elf, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Home Alone. :)

Elf has quickly become a favorite in our house

When I was growing up my family always had huge get togethers. Every year we would go to my grandmothers and spend time together with a big dinner followed by gift giving and then Christmas games and cleanup afterwards. Sadly my Grandmother hasn't been in the best of health so we haven't been able to celebrate there as of recent.

P.S. Witnessing the snow fall on Main Street USA seems magical until you see children's faces grimace after trying to catch the "snow" with their tongues lol...

We did a Disney cruise during December. When we were leaving the ship to go to Castaway Cay, they had a photo op with characters, Christmas tree and "snow".....it was awesome!
