My favorite holiday movie is Love Actually because I have watched it every holiday season with two of my good friends for as long as I can remember and those two friends make me happy. :) (Well, all of my friends do, but they are some of my oldest friends!)

I love decorating our Christmas tree - now trees every year with only Disney ornaments. We had to get a second tree two years ago to fit them all. I love checking at the Disneystore every week starting in late September to see if that years ornament designs are out. We may need to look at getting a third tree or trading up to a really large main tree. We don't even put our Disney balls on anymore.

As my son gets older and older it's harder and harder for us to get him to do family things. , luckily decorating the tree is still something we all come together for.

Cranberry Christmas Cake (similar to a coffee cake)
This is a hit at my house every year and it is AMAZING! Hope y'all enjoy it as much as we do. Perfect for breakfast or a bite of something sweet during the day.

    Ingredients
    • 3 eggs
    • 2 cups sugar
    • ¾ cup butter, softened
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 2 cups flour
    • 12 ounces fresh cranberries

      Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F. With a stand mixer, beat the eggs with the sugar until slightly thickened and light in color, about 5-7 minutes. The mixture should almost double in size. The eggs work as your leavening agent in this recipe, so do not skip this step. This mixture should form a ribbon when you lift the beaters out of the bowl. Add the butter and vanilla; mix two more minutes. Stir in the flour until just combined. Add the cranberries and stir to mix throughout. Spread in a buttered 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake 40-50 minutes, or until very lightly browned and a toothpick inserted near the center of the cake comes out clean. Let cool completely before cutting. Small pieces, about 1 x 2 inches, are easy to serve at a party.

This is a recipe that I like to put together Christmas eve for Christmas morning. Always a hit with the family.

    Stuffed French Toast Strata
    1 loaf French bread, cubed
    8 oz. cream cheese
    8 eggs
2 1/2 cups half and half
    6 tbsp. melted butter
    1/4 cup maple syrup
Grease 9x13 pan. Layer half the bread cubes and sprinkle with cream cheese. Cover with rest of bread. Mix together eggs, half and half, butter and syrup. Pour over bread and press down so mixture is absorbed. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake in 325 oven for 35-40 minutes

    Apple Cider Syrup
    1/2 sugar
    4 tsp. cornstarch
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup apple juice or cider
    1 tbsp. lemon juice
    2 tbsp. butter
Stir all ingredients except butter in saucepan, over medium heat. Bring to boil and stir until thick. Remove from heat and add butter. Spoon over French toast...

One of my favorite holiday memories is walking through magic kingdom Main Street when the fake snow is falling. It was so magical and I felt so much joy! I love all the lights around Disney and how beautiful the castle looks at night. Something out a dream!

My favorite holiday movie is Scrooged. I'm a huge Bill Murray fan and this movie strikes an excellent balance between humor and sentimentality that is perfect for a holiday movie.

So sweet of you to do this!

Our family tradition is to be together with the whole family (uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces etc) have dinner together and playing games together. We don’t see eachother often only with Christmas everyone is together as one big family :)

My two favorite holiday movies are the original stop motion Rudolph cartoon, and The Santa Clause.
I've just always been in love with Rudolph, I'm not entirely sure why or where it came from. I remember renting the vhs tape all year long until later on when I was finally able to buy a copy. I still remember seeing The Santa Clause in theaters. We saw it a few times, our family were big fans of Home Improvement.

And while not specifically for the holidays, I'll share my grandmother's beef stew recipe! It's my favorite thing when the weather is cold
4 lbs of meat cut into cubes
    2 cans petite diced tomatoes
2 of the large soft cartons of beef broth
    1 can vegetable broth
12 carrots peeled and cut into coins
5 lbs russet potatoes Cut into cubes
    1 bag frozen sweet corn

    Cut up meat into cubes
2 cups Flour, add Lawreys, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper and mix.
Squeeze meat in flour, shake, then put in pan (too much flour will burn, change oil and wash pan)
    Brown meat slowly without crowding
Put it all in the crock pot on high for 3-4 hours, check it and stir it up. Add additional seasoning as desired while it cooks.
Check the potatoes and carrots to make sure they are tender. Add corn last 30 mins.

    Protips:
Cut veggies early (night before) put in water and add lemon. You can cut meat too, but cut only, or you can just cheat and buy the precut stew meat, it works just as well!
You might need more liquid, I typically add more veggie broth or chicken broth, I don't use water since it loses flavor.

    First game I've entered! :)
    1. My favorite holiday memory is every Christmas, opening presents that I may or may not know about ;)
    2. A tradition I love is making gingerbread houses even though I am pretty bad at decorating!
    3. Favorite recipe: plain old sugar cookies with frosting!
    Frosting:
    Powdered sugar and milk
    Cookie INGREDIENTS
    • 3 cups all-purpose flour

    • 1 teaspoon baking powder

    • 1/2 teaspoon salt

    • 1 cup butter, softened (1 cup = 2 sticks)

    • 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar

    • 2 eggs

    • 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

    • 1-1/2 teaspoons almond extract

    • PAM® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
      • Combine flour, baking powder and salt in medium bowl; set aside. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla and almond extracts; mix well. Gradually add flour mixture, beating on low speed after each addition until well blended. Divide dough into 3 portions; wrap each tightly in plastic wrap. Refrigerate dough 2 hours or until thoroughly chilled and firm enough to handle.

      • STEP TWO
Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray baking sheets and 5-inch Santa face cookie cutter with cooking spray; set aside. Roll out 1 portion of dough to 1/4-inch thickness on floured surface with floured rolling pin. Cut out cookies with prepared cutter. Transfer with metal spatula to baking sheet, placing 1 inch apart. Repeat with remaining dough portions, spraying cutter with additional cooking spray as needed.

      • STEP THREE
Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until edges of cookies are browned lightly. Cool on baking sheet 1 minute before removing cookies and placing on wire racks to cool completely.
4.my favorite holiday movie is Elf because it is so funny, and is great for the holidays!

    5. SANTA - please bring me an Apple Watch this year! I'll be a good girl! :)

My favorite holiday traditions: getting to empty our stockings on the first night of Hanukkah, lighting the candles, dreidel wars with my brother (R.I.P.), opening presents with my extended family, and taking bags of donations to our retired Marine friend for Toys for Tots.

My favorite holiday movie is Miracle on 34th Street (the original!). I also love Elf, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Home Alone. :)

And apparently we have a new holiday tradition in our household: watching Frosty and Frosty Returns on a loop until I go insane from Frosty telling himself, "Happy Birthday!"

My favorite Christmas movie is the Rankin Bass Rudolph the red nosed reindeer.

I’ve watched this ever year of my childhood and my adulthood. It’s sweet, with a great message to us “misfits”... you are special in your own way.

Makes me cry every time I watch it.

When I was growing up my family always had huge get togethers. Every year we would go to my grandmothers and spend time together with a big dinner followed by gift giving and then Christmas games and cleanup afterwards. Sadly my Grandmother hasn't been in the best of health so we haven't been able to celebrate there as of recent.

P.S. Witnessing the snow fall on Main Street USA seems magical until you see children's faces grimace after trying to catch the "snow" with their tongues lol...
