Our favorite? Hades ... he rules!

Also coming to the Disney Stores is a new series that will make your Vinylmation™ Collection smell great for the holidays. It's called Jingle Smells ... and yes, the figures will be scented. We've smelled them and were immediately transported to the holidays.
This new collection will have four different scented figures and will be released at the Disney Stores on October 30, 2011. These figures will be released at Disney Parks a few weeks later (release date to be determined).
Here are a few looks at the figures from the series. Too bad our "smell-o-vision" plug-in isn't working yet.

It's great moments with Vinylmation today as we reveal the next figure in Park Starz - President Abraham Lincoln.

VMBlog_20110923_ParkStarzLincoln.jpg

The Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln attraction debuted in the State of Illinois pavilion at the 1964-65 New York World's Fair. The fair took place at Flushing Meadow, New York (hence the coordinates we provided during the "Project Z" campaign). The attraction then moved to Disneyland® Resort and opened on July 18, 1965. Mr. Lincoln also appears in the Hall of Presidents attraction at Magic Kingdom® Park in Florida. This original Walt Disney World® Attraction opened on October 1, 1971.

Here is another look at the figure.

VMBlog_20110923_ParkStarzMrLincoln.jpg

And while today marks the first day of Fall, we are still experiencing the warm sunshine in Florida. So, we headed out to Disney's Blizzard Beach to caputre our friend the Ice Gator in his natural environment. Think cool thoughts!

VMBlog_20110923_ParkStarzGatorBB.jpg

In other news, our good friend Heather from the D-Street team in Florida just sent us this photo. Hooray! We made the big board at Downtown Disney® West Side.

We are only a few days away before we celebrate 40th Anniversary of the Walt Disney World® Resort. We decided to commemorate the occasion by turning Park #7 into a 40th Anniversary tribute collection. The new limited release mystery series is set for release on October 14 at the D-Street locations. The combo pack will also be released that day.

Here is a look at the tray and individual box for the series.

VMBlog_20110926_Park7Tray.jpg

VMBlog_20110926_Park7box.jpg

You will notice that the design for the box and tray has departed from the traditional black color used since 2008. The art team decided to use the popular 40th Anniversary merchandise collage introduced in early 2011.

As mentioned, the combo pack will also be released that day. It features a figure designed by Monty Maldovan from Disney Design Group and continues the "Mickey Mouse" series.

VMBlog_20110926_Park7ComboBox.jpg

VMBlog_20110926_Park7ComboFigs.jpg

The 3-inch figures will retail for $12.95 each and the combo back will have a retail of $26.95.

October 14 will also see the release of the Epcot® International Food and Wine Festival figure. This 3-inch figure will have a retail of $14.95.

VMBlog_20110808_FWFig02.jpg

Finally, a specially designed 3-inch figure celebrating the island we wish we were on right now - Castaway Cay - will be released on the Disney Cruise Line® Ships. The figure will have a retail of $12.95.

If you haven't seen the figures for the upcoming Vinylmation™ - Alice In Wonderland Series designed by Disney Design Group Artist Thomas Scott, CHECK THEM OUT! We too can't wait for this series which is coming in early November.

This past weekend, fans who visited the Disney Store in Times Square had a surprise release. The Disney Store team released two Vinylmation, Jr. keychains. They were so popular that another shipment is set to arrive in the store later this week. The figures were inspired by previously released 3-inch figures.

We are also a few days away from the start of the "Room For 1 More" event. Last night, we received images from one of the custom figures being introduced at the event. This 9-inch figure was designed by the talented Javier Soto, and all we can say is "WOW!" Some of the images below show the figure illuminated by a black light. Great work once again, Javier! We love it! The figure will be part of the silent auction with an opening big of $999.

In other news, we have an important update regarding the release of Park #7. Unfortunately, we have to delay the release until October 28. It was originally scheduled for October 14. We apologize for any trouble this may have caused.

We will be holding a few opportunities to meet artists behind Vinylmation during the next few weeks. Here is a breakdown: October 21 - Disney Design Group Artists Thomas Scott and Casey Jones will be at D-Street in Florida on October 21 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to meet with fans and sign newly released Park Starz #1 figures.

November 4 - Disney Design Group Artists Thomas Scott will be at D-Street in Florida on November 4 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to meet with fans and sign figures from the Alice In Wonderland series. November 5 - Disney Design Group Artists Thomas Scott will be at D-Street in California on November 5 from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. to meet with fans and sign figures from the Alice In Wonderland series. There will be a limit of two (2) items signed per guest.

There is a new limited edition set designed by Kidada Jones coming exclusively to the DisneyStore.com on October 30. This set has an edition size of 1,500 and a retail of $79.95. We love the details on this figure including some of the fun images from the packaging. The figure looks like an ice cream sundae (we are hungry!) and has an overall Walt Disney's Peter Pan feel. And we think we'll do exactly what is said on one of the ears ... never grow up!

10/12 Update :) Vinylmation.com

October 12, 2011
Blog_20111012_Mickey'sCircusLogo.jpg

We invite you to mark your calendars for September 7-9, 2012 as those are the dates when Mickey's Circus comes to Epcot®. We are still in the very early stages of planning this event, so please stay tuned.

We recently mentioned that Park #7 release date was moved to October 28. There will be three additional 9-inch figures from Urban #7 released on that day as well at the D-Street locations in Florida and California.
VMBlog_20111012_Egyptians.jpg

Edition Size: 1,500 / Retail: $74.95
We asked Casey Jones what inspired his Egyptian set.
"I'm a big fan of 'Lost' and archaeology so this set was my nod to both of those interests," Casey responded.
We must say that after seeing this set we are hoping he will follow up with one based on the Phoenicians. We would be thankful for that!
VMBlog_20111012_TVBars.jpg

Edition Size: 1,000 / Retail: $39.95
Thomas Scott designed the 9-inch figure pictured above. He explained the artwork had been created a long time ago.
"I used art from an older project to create the 9-inch figure that looks like color bars found in a television studio," explained Thomas. "This figure actually compliments the Disney Ear Hat with 3-inch figure we released a few months ago. We like offering a variety of designs, sometimes they are more complex and other times more simplistic. The 9-inch canvas gives us more room to experiment and try different things. The goal is to create a good balance of designs."

We asked Thomas if this figure will be used on a forthcoming Vinylmation Television Network. He laughed (as did we as there are no plans for such a network ... but wouldn't it be awesome?!).
The final 9-inch figure we are releasing on October 28 is one designed by Maria Clapsis.

Building off the success of Series #1, this new series will feature 11 known figures and one mystery chaser. There will also be two variant figures in the series. We love the mix of familiar faces as well as some unexpected figures (we're talking about you - Kim Possible and John Henry).

So what do you think?????

Not sure how they are keeping this design in the Vinylmation Category? I thought the Mickey Design was the vinylmation wording, then
they came out with Park Z's and now the Monorail Design. So my assumption is that VINYLMATION will have several design meanings.
Not really into the Cars movie ( I did like the Japan movie) but looking forward to other monorail designs.....

Looking forward to hearing everyones opinions on the new upcoming release.

Dana :)

I saw them yesterday, and am still undecided on them. I would however like to see a line of normal WDW/DL Monorail Vinylmations based off the different colors at the parks

VMBlog_20120316_VMCarsLogo.jpg

We are excited to share some additional information about a new Vinylmation series that will soon make its debut at Disney Parks. This limited release mystery series features characters from Disney-Pixar's "Cars" on figures shaped like monorails. Each monorail measures approximately 4.5" long and will be packaged in a mystery box. Artwork was created by Maria Clapsis in collaboration with Thomas Scott. Lin Shih designed the form and Eric Caszatt created the packaging. Each figure will be $11.95 each.

Below is a look at Lightning McQueen from the series.
VMBlog_20120316_VMCarsLMcQ.jpg

If you are an Annual Passholder at Disneyland Resort, you will have a first opportunity to purchase these new figures starting on March 27.

See HERE for additional details. There will be a limit of two trays per guest during the Passholder previews.
The series will then be released at the D-Street locations and other Vinylmation locations in California and Florida on March 30. The series will also be released via the Disney Parks online store at a future date. From Vinylmation.com :)
