2014 Designer Dolls - Fairytale Collection Part II

The monday all the merchandise, besides the dolls, are released. We should have a release date soon. They started selling the dolls the last week of August last year.
Don't forget though that in prior years the pins were released on different dates to the merchandise, it was because of this that many people missed out on the Designer Villains pin back in 2012 because people were not expecting it to come out. The tricky this with this release is that it is the second non D23 release but it is the second part of the last year release that was a D23 release.
Therefore the thing that we are unsure on is whether or not it will be based on the 2012 villains since it was a non D23 year or it is based on last year's release because it is the second part of last year's release.

I'm really hoping Europe gets the pins too but I don't remember either the set last year or the villains coming here (I wasn't seriously collecting when the Princesses came out so I'm not sure on those). I don't think Europe got the mugs either last year (I might be wrong though) so if we do get them this year hopefully there will be a chance for the pins too.

but I have a couple if quick questions. When do the couples dolls come out? Do they all come out on the same day? Do we get any warning like a banner online? Also when do the pins come out? The release date/s for this year's dolls are as yet unknown, however I would expect a post on the Disney Store blog shortly before the release date to let us know when to expect them. Normally we would expect one set to be released every couple of weeks from the initial release date. US pin releases tend to pop up without warning so just keep a look out for those!

Think that last time you could pre-order the entire set, but the rest of the dolls were released once every two weeks and shipped like regular purchases. When all the dolls were released I think they shipped the entire sets for the people who preordered that.
They're not surprise releases - we'll get all information in advance.
They could be. I truthfully don't remember if the Designer Villains were released at the end of August or mid September.
But I am surprised we don't have any info on this set. Disney released the info for all the other designer sets by the end of July, if I remember correctly.

I think it might be harder to preorder the whole set than just buying the dolls separately the dolls. Or maybe it won't since this years collection isn't as popular as last years and we have the expo last year.
I wonder how long it'll take for Mulan, Pocahontas, and Tiana to sell out. Not short I recon.

Does this mean they'll last? These are the three I want most. Along with Jasmine, I think they're the nicest ones of the entire collection. I imagine they'll all go pretty quickly. These dolls have a serious following.
I also think the entire-set sales will last at least a few minutes. It'll be like any LE release since there's no D23 this year to presell a bunch. Plus there are 1,000 more units than the Heirloom dolls. Maybe I'm being too hopeful...
Seems like Cinderella, Aurora and Mulan are the most popular among the 5 couples.
I hope to get the full set. Seems like a lot people only want some of the dolls and for others it might be a big amount of money to spend on a single purchase - atleast that's what I hope XD

I hope we get more information soon. Got my money saved up for Briar Rose already. Can't wait to add her to my collection. Trying to track down designer Maleficent in the uk is proving difficult sold mine last year and she was easy to get and now trying to get her again their are none:/

Strange we haven't heard anything yet. Even with the villains, they announced them August 7th. Hope they aren't too late in the season, I usually have them sent to the States and it's always so busy in the pre-Christmas season
They showed us a peek during the Holiday Product Preview... Maybe they're not coming out until the Holiday time? Not a smart move for consistency, but it might be what they're doing this year.
On a side note, they could be releasing them starting at the Attraction Rewind for some reason if that's the case.

I'm sure we'll hear something soon. I don't think Disney will leave it until the holiday season, they'll have Big Hero 6 release, and Christmas Frozen merchandise and the Sleeping Beauty blu ray release to worry about. I really hope they just release them once every week instead of once every two weeks. Who knows though, could be anytime until we hear about it officially from Disney. I get the feeling that Disney wanted to space out the Aurora LE doll preorder and the Fairytale Collection announcement. It is a lot for doll collectors, last year was crazy with the first set of DFDC dolls and then Ariel, Ursula, and Eric LE dolls released in the same time period (I believe it was the day before the DFDC Belle was released).

if my heart wishes for Cinderella in time for my birthday, will it come true?!I believe this information was from a person who asked a cast member in their local store. I don't usually believe anything from this page as it is never accurate due to the varying sources making it difficult to determine the credibility of the information. The Designer princesses were 10 dolls and they were released weekly starting the end of August and was supposed to end in October but was ended sooner.
Then you had the Villains who were also released weekly, starting in September and ending in October however the merchandise was released in late August.
Last year was the first year they did the every other week release starting Aug 19 and ending mid Oct. Since this is a continuation of last year's line I honestly believe that what we may see is that the first doll may be released in September but that does not necessarily mean that the merchandise and information will not be released late August.

I doubt they will go back to weekly as there are only 5 dolls in this series and Disney likes to pre-long things to build the hype, just like they are doing now with delaying the information being released.
