Time for another thoughtful look into the world of DLR hidden mickey pins.

Has anyone else taken a harder look at the Hidden Mickey (HM) attraction weathervanes (silhouettes in blue squares) released at DLR as part of wave C. I get that 'Peter Pan', 'Haunted Mansion' 'Mr Toad' and 'Pinocchio' are all rides at DLR. I also get the pirate ship for Peter Pan, and Mr. Toad in his car and the whale for Pinocchio.

What I was hoping those with great knowledge here on the DPF could answer:
1) What is the significance of the sailing boat for Haunted Mansion?
2) What is the attraction associated with Mary Poppins at DLR?
3) What is the attraction associated with the big bad wolf at DLR?
4) Is there any significance to the weathervanes? The only one I associate with a weathervane is Mary Poppins.

Picture of the HM pin set to follow.

I'm guessing Mary Poppins is Jolly Holiday and Big Bad Wolf may be Storybook Canal but I'd have to doublecheck it to be certain. I think the weather vanes are atop the attractions?

Mary Poppins Weathervane is at Jolly Holiday.

So you know how the Haunted Mansion House was constructed years before the ride actually opened? One of the story treatments was the owner of the house was a Sea Captain, Captain Gore. So the weather vane is a remnant of this old story.

There is a Big Bad Wolf Weather Vane at the B.B. Wolf Sausage Company at Disney Springs. And it looks like that. I don't know why they have it in the Disneyland set though. Is there one in DCA at the Starbucks?

As for the last question. I think the Weather Vanes are like the Trash Cans and the Popcorn Turners. They are a thing that most people don't really pay attention to, but are the sprinkles on top of the Disney Parks sundae that internet photography fans have taken to. I spent one trip at Disneyland taking pictures of the weather vanes after WDI released that pin set, many years ago now.

I just realized, that maybe you didn't know that these Weather Vanes all exist, in the parks, as a physical thing. Although again, I don't know why they used the WDW one. Unless, the designer is here and saw it at Disney Springs and just assumed Disneyland had one too.

Is there a weathervane at the Fifer Fidler cafe in california adventure? That could be where the wolf is from? Or where the three little bigs have there houses in the canal boats but i don't think they would make a pin off of a minature vane so i'm not sure. I'll stick with the cafe guess :)

There is also a WDI set of weathervane pins from a few years back; I have the Gadget one in my Rescue Rangers collection.

Fiddler, Fifer, and Practical is a good guess for the BBW vane. I’ll have to pay attention when I go back in a few weeks.

I'm guessing, but isn't Haunted Mansion ride in Liberty Square? That might explain the boat weather wane for HM...

I chuckled at the "I have to look up" comment made by TheMickeyMouse Rules. We were at a D23 event years ago and Tony Baxter said that so many people miss so much of the added touches that Disney does because they "don't look up" lol!! He gave the ceilings at the World of Disney as an example of many added touches that folks miss because they never "look up" while at Disney.
