Is there a certain Disney character that you always seem to find a lot in the mystery pin sets?

It’s Stitch and the Cheshire Cat for me. :stitch::cheshire:

If I purchase a Disney Store or parks mystery set, it seems like I’m almost guaranteed to receive at least 1 Stitch pin. When I used to buy the Loungefly mystery sets more often, the Cheshire Cat was definitely the character that I received the most.

It’s not that I don’t like these characters (I do!), and I realize that they’re popular and that it’s all about the luck of the draw with the blind packs. I just find the lack of variety and how often I come across these same two to be slightly amusing at this point, and I am curious if anyone else has had the same experience!

Does anyone else get a lot of Stitch and Cheshire Cat pins in mystery sets, or is there another character that you see a lot of the time instead of these two… or do I just have bad luck with the mystery pins? 😂

I would be very happy to receive an endless supply of Stitch and Cheshire Cat pins, as they make good traders! I collect Cheshire, specifically and would jump for joy for at least making progress that way. My general experience is I will end up with multiples of the "least desired" pin in any mystery set. The pins I specifically want for my collection will be the ones I rarely get. So I won't get my pins, and I won't get pins good enough to trade for the pins I do want. For example, this pin in the 2012 New Fantasyland Reveal / Conceal set. I have never traded, or have anyone express interest in this pin in 13 years. And I have 2.

I don't know if I tend to pull them, but I do notice that Stitch in particular gets added to everything so certainly more chance to get him across the board. I was just thinking the other day that the "add Stitch to it" trend is about as rediculous as the "Put a bird on it" Portlandia sketch. The one that triggered it for me the other day (a HM set rather than a mystery, but same idea) is the 2010 Scoop and Friends set which has Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and...Stitch. (And a couple others to be fair.) Or 2008 Easter with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, and...Stitch. Or 2008 silhouettes with a couple of the Fab 5, Chip and Dale, and...Stitch. Or the 2008 characters driving cars with some Fab 5, Buzz, and....Stitch. Or.....

Characters go through phases of popularity. Used to be Tinker Bell was in every set but she seems to have dropped in popularity over the years.

That is a good point. Stitch and Cheshire Cat do make excellent traders!
