A few weeks back, I saw an instagram story where someone was trading with boards at BoxLunch. Has anyone tried this? If you have, were you in the Disney bubble?

We have a BoxLunch near us but I haven’t remembered to bring my pins with me to see if we have it available.

I saw that too, but I was in BoxLunch recently and they did not have a trading board. I wonder if you have to ask.

@maiarebecca and @HoHumTr8d3r have done some investigative work and hopefully will comment. It's slowly rolling out nationwide, but yes Box Lunch is rolling out trading! New York area and some Texas locations are confirmed. My local store has had a box where you could trade within a series, but the boards are a new update. Local traders on Facebook have been checking in on the other stores in my area Denver has 4 Box Lunches in the area, and 2 of them definitely have boards (Aurora and Park Meadows).

Yes! I asked every week at my box lunch for like a month and they finally started it! It started on the east coast and it is at many but not all stores in Texas. It’s a small board at my local store. They had 8 pins to start and I donated two more so they would have ten. I wish I had taken a photo of it today. It’s any licensed pin, not just Disney.

Oh, that is exciting! Thanks for the update! I guess I will have to ask the next time I am there. It might not have reached Wisconsin yet though.

My 2 local area BoxLunch (West Nyack, NY) and American Dream in NJ both have trading boards. Unfortunately, because they don't limit you to purchases made at BL, it's now filled with 50% scrappers! I did trade yesterday (traded a Harry Potter pin I bought in the store to get a Tiana skate pin). They limit you 2 pins per day for any licensed pins (not just Disney). The worker told me someone wrote an email complaint about the scrapper board (which dings their customer satisfaction) and it's been a constant pain of complaints (multiple emails and low stars). I hope they don't take away the boards because of this.

My local BoxLunch finally has a trading board. I had to pick up a pin order at both BoxLunch and Hot Topic, and I was ready with 2 pins from home. I traded a Vision pin (was a park trader) and one of the Star Wars advent calendar pins (that I have ton of). The worker said he would inspect my pins and had full discretion to accept or deny and asked if I was okay with that; I agreed. He let me trade both, so I got the Captain America jacket and the Mulan vhs pins. I didn’t need any of those pins but wanted to trade for the sake of trading. It worked out I went in the middle of the day (took a long lunch break) because there were only a few other people in the store so was able to talk with the workers for a bit.

I haven't checked my store in a while (Midland) but next time I pop in I'll make sure to ask and take a photo if it does exist!

Curious to know if any of the workers you talked to were pin traders? I've got like 1 or 2 people who might be interested in manning the board if one exists at my store. Your store's variety is nice.

They wear pins on their lanyards but they don’t seem to be traders. They appear to be amused by me and the few other regulars who pop in for a quick trading fix 😂

I went into the one near my home and one employee did not know they had a pin board there. It was explained to her how to pin trade on the board. Employees are allowed to trade on the board once a week(at least in Brentwood CA)

The store near me (Northern Virginia - Fair Oaks mall) has a Mickey head pin board that they keep visible but high on a shelf so that you have to ask to see it and the worker will monitor the trade. You can trade 2 pins. I've looked at the board multiple visits but only traded one time and only traded one pin not two just because they didn't have anything interesting on the board.

No, they’re not pin traders, but they were excited to have a pin board. Although another worker, who I haven’t seen in a bit, wears a pin lanyard.

I live in the East Valley in Arizona and the BL stores here do have trade boards!

Since it's new, the board isn't super active. I traded a Marvel pin to the board that has been there for three weeks with very little changes of other pins. The board also has pins like Naruto and Hello Kitty that just don't appeal to me as a Disney collector.

However, I snagged a cool little Piglet wreath on my first trade so now I have to keep checking every time I am near. Adding to my addiction haha

looks like I need to take a trip to my BoxLunch store and have some traders on hand ! I’ve seen their board before but usually it was to purchase clearance pins. I’ll update here if I get the chance to trade 🥰

I can confirm my local Box Lunch Store (Santa Rosa Plaza, CA) has pin trading! No Disney pins when I went in since they accept any officially licensed pin, but that can also be a positive to those who have pin collections that aren’t exclusively Disney. It’s really fun to see official pin trading rules and the opportunity to get something else if I blind box one I don’t like 🥰

I miss our Disney store still (always mourning it when I go to the mall 😭) but BoxLunch has been a fun nostalgic nod to our family’s Disney fixes, so seeing pin trading is really neat 😍
