2013 Fairytale Designer Collection
Lillimay, I read you just have to take a copy of your Disney.com D23 receipt and that is our "membership card"

Just found this while browsing on Flickr. Dunno if anyone else has seen it yet. :)

All these things look great! I'm starting to get worried now. How can I order the mugs, journals, t-shirts & a set of dolls all in one order? Precious seconds wasted figuring out the sizing chart etc. I don't want the dolls stolen from my cart like the first round of designer dolls...

Why do I have a really bad feeling that I'm going to be broke after this collection? Thank God they aren't doing Sleeping Beauty, then I'd really be snookered.

I may be in the minority, but I don't like them. I held up the photo against my 17in Rapunzel and it could have been a drawing of the same doll. Probably skipping this collection, so disappointed - as I adored the first two :(

Now that you pointed that out, she totally does!

I'm really wanting to see how they translate in to real life dolls. They could be better or worse than the lithos with all those little details. Plus, hopefully they don't get posed horribly like Gothel did. (Poor doll...she's probably going to be on the website for a long long long time.) I really believe this collection has a lot of potential...but also has an immense potential to be a flop if the details aren't on point.

yeah I feel like they took the more liberties with Jasmine and Rapunzel's gowns as far as deviating from their original looks. Snow, Belle, and Ariel just look embellished a little. Jasmine's works because as far as LE dolls, she's only had the designer doll so far and there are enough differences to make this a little interesting. But since Rapunzel has her 17" deluxe gown and her designer gown I feel like this version isn't very different or inspired. I would have rather seen her in an alternate version of her pink/purple short sleeve end-scene dress. Her hair looks phenomenal though- I hope that translates through in the actual doll

I'm hopeful that the dolls will translate well. Dolls always look better than concept art, and then dolls always look better in person.

However, I'm expecting a LOT of hair glue to keep the styles in place, kind of like the LE Ariel doll has. And in that case, the princes had better have rooted hair and glued like crazy. If they have molded hair, I don't even think I'd be interested in this set.

It's an interesting induction into the line. I wonder if it's supposed to cater mostly to the people who missed the first run of the princesses and that's why they're taking the 6,000 LE approach.

To those who have the first designer line, do you want this set, too?

I'm really thinking Belle will be the surprise of the collection. Disney has never released a doll that has done her justice imo. They are always either too gaudy or too plain. If they make her look just like the concept art, which is pretty much just like the movie, she will be stunning. At the moment the two I am really liking are Snow and Jasmine. Depending on how thy turn out in doll form those are the two I will be trying to get. But if Belle looks amazing I'd have to get her!

It kind of upsets me how Disney releases the images for their dolls so sporadically. They have the LE Ariel and Ursula/Vanessa doll, the LE Anna and Elsa dolls and this collection all coming out around the same time. I wish they would just release images of all these dolls now so people could pick their favorites and save up. I'm torn with the LE Ariel because I do like her but I dunno if I like her enough to get her haha. I would love if they released pictures of the Anna doll and if I liked her more I would wait for her as opposed to getting Ariel. I want Ursula and Elsa regardless but with the princesses I just want to get the prettiest haha.

Oh my goodness, I want all things Jasmine (well, except for the journal because I have a lot of those lying around). It would be magnificent to finally get a Jasmine doll (if there is one).

The Designer Princesses situation just made me all kinds of sad. I remember when I went back to the store after they decided the last dolls would be released on a "first come, first serve" basis. I told them I didn't even have a shot since I had work that day. :(

I'm really thinking Belle will be the surprise of the collection. Disney has never released a doll that has done her justice imo. They are always either too gaudy or too plain.

Or in the case of 17 inch Limited Belle, both- her dress too gaudy and her face too plain. I was so looking forward to Belle's limited doll after stunning Snow White and was pretty disgusted when pictures of her finally surfaced. I actually thought and hoped the pics of her were fake, I thought she looked so bad. Her current singing doll looks much better IMO. Anyways I agree there has never been a good accurate beautiful Belle doll, and I hope her doll in this fairytale designer line will finally be the one to do her
justice. I want a Belle doll that looks like this:

I kinda wish they would give us something new in the "designer" collections, Instead of only having things like compacts, journals, makeup, clothes, mugs, etc.

I would LOVE a pretty decorated music box (The "sculpted" types, not the children's jewellery boxes that are made of paper/cardboard).
Even a beautiful sculpted musical figurine of the designer couples! The sculpting work disney does on their princess ornaments & "Park" photo frames are beautiful! It would be nice if they expanded the line that way, even if they just did a snow globe.
I completely agree with you. I would love to see them make the items you mentioned. They would be a lot more interesting and special.

I like the Broadway Belle barbie doll. The first one made (I think), not the remakes. But otherwise I agree that they never get her or her dress right. The 17 inch doll doesn't even appeal to me.

I actually own that one, and I love the deep rich colors of her hair and lips, but it really looks nothing like her in the face, which is understandable as it was probably modeled more after the look of the Broadway actresses who played Belle rather than animated Belle. I think the current Disney Store Belle looks very washed out and bland with her too light brown hair and too pale lips. I hope the fairytale designer Belle's coloring resembles that of the Broadway Belle doll more than the Disney store one, and I really want her to have a closed mouth and her widow's peak. Even Mattel who doesn't seem to care about their Disney princess line anymore gave Belle her widow's peak.

I agree the belle dolls aren't very accurate and her signature dress is mainly downscaled, although I think that's mainly the intention, as the doll's main purpose is to be played with.
I do hope they do her justice in this fairytale designer collection and go for the full on dress. Also, I hope they do her hair right this time. All the play dolls and designer belle suffer from a huge hairdo. Her original hair would do her much more justice and make a big difference on her appearance, i personally think.
