Wow, interesting new rules!

I wonder if they'll also have a rule about auction bidding, like taking a credit card number and holding the funds from the credit card once a bid is placed, to deter things like what happened at last year's event.

Not sure I like the vouchers for the pin lines. Depends on how many people get, but the boards were all we really did. So if they limit to 4 per day or something, it seems like it would be a waste of my time. Especially, if people are limited to what they can bring. Most people will bring their best traders, which probably won't be the stuff I'm interested in. Not that I'll probably be able to go anyway.

Interesting that you are guaranteed all the board pins, but I wonder if that will replace the previous gifts. So no Jumbo?

interesting... dont mind the board limit but if people are limited to one bag what the )&#) are we supposed to do for 2 days..

I'm really bummed they will limit the number of trips to the boards. That's all I do also :-(

The giving each attendee a set of the event exclusive board pins ruins the trading of those pins. What they really need to do is limit the number of scooters allowed in the building.

This x a Million. Seriously. They will need more table space if they limit the number of trips to the board because everyone will be sitting. I think they just reduced their registration numbers with th bag size. All your big time traders won't spend the money to be so limited.

I don't know whether to play Taps first for vinyl trading or pin events. They just turned the awesome Epcot event into the awful Calfornia style events where you only get five board trades per person.

One bag?! Why even bother? (Which is of course the intent IMO - with the ultimate goal of stopping holding the events altogether... On the way to the end goal of stopping supporting pin trading altogether.)

Sorry just calling it as I see it going down.

This hurts almost too much to explain. Of course I'll go to see how it turns out, but if the changes aren't for the better, you can bet I won't be back the next year. Also, not happy about snuffing the vinylmation traders. It's the lack of merchandise and the prices that make me not want to go on vinylmation days, not the releases.

Like I said I'll give it the benefit of the doubt, but I bet people will be trading pins for those vouchers.

Edit: I wonder if they'll give vouchers for the breakfast as well?

okay so after doing math.. bags arnt as limited as i thought.. a carry on size per person is fair as we can get 2-3 pin bags in..

I have been going to the event for the last 8 years at least. I trade in the back and my sister waits in line. I am really debating whether to go next year. I think that they really mean you can have only one bag. And how many vouchers can you get? What kind of pins will be on the boards? Many unanswered questions. Will have to see how much this all will cost before I make up my mind.

No, They do not want the people rolling in wagons and strollers full of pin books, then taking up a whole row of tables for one person. I see 5 or 6 of the same pin in people's books all the time. Now, they can cut that down to two and have the same amount of pins in less books, and NOT hog a whole row of tables.

Why does it matter if they take up a whole table? They haven't run out of tables since 2007- there's always plenty left over. As a walker, I want as many books there as possible- the last thing I want is for someone to tell me they left the pin I want at home because they couldn't bring everything. Especially to the one big event we have.

This X a gazillion (not a real number, but I don't care). We only get one major pin trading event, and I've got some weird and quirky wants—ones that people might leave at home if they had to make a choice! If the back room really filled up (not counting all of those blasted extra chairs), I could see it but lately there's been empty tables in the back so I don't see this as Problem #1!

This.

Both times I went to the event I ran into someone who claimed they had one of the pins I was (and still am) looking for. Except they left it at home. Both times they said they'd bring it the next day to the event. Both times I left them my contact information. Both times they flaked and never brought the pin and never contacted me. And that's the only time I've ever even gotten close to someone who had the Walt pin in my sig. And that was *without* bag limits. The last thing I want is another "oops, just missed it" because that was the bag someone decided not to bring. Especially with fewer and fewer opportunities to trade with people outside your own local group.

WOW :-( Soooo Disappointed!! WDW is down to 1 Pin Event for the year and you can't bring all your pins for trade or spend all the time you want in the Trading Board lines?? I'd hate to miss my first one since 2003 but, it may be time to quit giving Disney $$ for next to nothing!!

I bet for LESS $$ we could all get together, rent a Ballroom or 2 (at WDW or nearby) and have a GREAT TRADE MEET WEEKEND ourselves. TTFN

The bag size is part off the new rules for all parks. If you go to the link for park rules it is explained a little more clearly. You can bring a bag 24” x 15” x 18” (61cm x 38cm x 46cm) in size to the park any day of the year. A bag that size will hold 4 books plus. It is larger than a carry on for flying. They don't want wagons or shopping carts or hand trucks. You can also have on a back pack which holds 2 pin books. That's 6 books. I usually bring 12 books because there are three of us . By the new rule we could still bring a least 12 books. I cold leave and bring in more if I wanted.

Interesting comments!! I will opt to wait until the registration time gets closer and more details are presented.

The boards/waiting time is a simple queuing theory problem, you need more boards to alleviated the wait time of the lines, actually very simple solution. Like when they NEVER have enough cash registers to process folks during special events - you NEVER let people wait when they want to give you money - they just NEVER get this!!

I am sure we will see more as the time for registration comes closer - but with a fairly banal theme to start with - we will see.

Well, the Disney Announcement didn't say anything about wheelchairs and strollers. Nothing in the "rules" stating that a person needs to be in the wheelchair or stroller to go through Security. Just a thought.
TTFN!

Why does it matter if they take up a whole table?

I'm not talking one whole table, I said a whole ROW of tables, which is like two or three tables. And last year, the back room got pretty full. there was not plenty of room. Besides that with the board trading restricted to voucher counts. more people will migrate to the back room than years prior.

I know how much space you meant. I'll just have to say I disagree with this being an issue. It MIGHT be a valid point if we were talking about the old Contemporary PTNs- table space filled up quickly at those things. But it just hasn't been a problem at the events.

I'm just really baffled at Disney's sudden massive concern for large baggage. This was a HUGE snafu at the last PTN, too. It's like they're punishing the traders who spend the most money and/or have been doing this the longest. I have to wonder if there was a trip and fall lawsuit that cost them booku bucks somewhere in there in the last year or so...

I've already stated why I'm against limits- for the one major event of the year, it should be all hands on deck, as far as I'm concerned. Especially with people coming in from all over the world. Disney might have a reason, but since they'll never tell us the REAL reason, I guess we'll never know...
