All,

So this is both a rant and a question at the same time. I will start with the question as that is the most relevant. Do we have an idea or know of what the leaked date for the restock of the hidden mickey pins are? I am hearing June, or July but want to know if anyone has heard any official release dates.

Now for the rant, and sorry if this isn't allowed I just need to get this out of my system. I find myself disappointed with both Disney and the trading community as a whole. So I have been trading for a while now, and I live in the New Orleans area, but I love DLR over WDW (to each their own). I knew the pins were releasing but with my school and work schedule I wasn't able to get out there till this past weekend, and guess what? The hidden mickey pins were sold out park wide, and with doing an internet search found out they were also sold out at WDW. So I decided to try my luck at the pin trading area, which as we know is what people make it. I won't go there. What disappointed me was the level of greed behind the community. Which is not what I remembered when I started collecting over a decade ago. In short I was appalled with people having 10 or 15 of the same pin (the new hidden Disney's) and not willing to trade or asking for something of much greater value. I witnessed this over and over again not just for me, but for others trading as well. While there I also heard people talking about them selling their extra sets online.

I guess what disappoints me about Disney is they know the demand for these pins, and they didn't do anything to control it.. ( I.e. making folks scan their passes and limiting the daily number you can buy per person). So much could have been done to ensure that enough stock was available for those coming this summer. As someone who lives in New Orleans its not easy to just jump on a plane or go to the parks to trade and its not as if I can buy these on the disney.com

The community- there is a great many things I could say, but what I will say is do better, people have sucked all the fun out of it. Between dealing with scrappers, greed, and the resale market I can say im disappointed? Am I missing something?

Honestly- I would just like to know the dates of the restock so I can spend more money to re-arrange my schedule to try and be there on release day so that I have a chance at getting a few of the pins I would like. I refuse to pay second hand prices.

Help me out, help me understand.

I have not heard about any restock, but restock seems likely. By the time the restock happens, the hype should have died down and they should be in stock longer. (A prediction, but it is informed by past history with the hidden disney pouches.)

In same boat here for gaining the new Hidden Disney pins. People are over valuing them, but its pin economics. Supply and demand. Supply is still on the lower side and demand is still high. Another standard pattern and the trading will become easier as time passes. Only advice I have: Stay strong on your HD pin values, wait these traders out.

My MMRule: never be in a hurry to chase a hidden disney pin. Patience is your best friend.

Patience. For the most part, the trade values will come down and the sharks will dump their stock. If not local, I wouldn't make a trip to the parks just for hidden mickeys. Go to the parks for the experience of the parks - including trading. Hidden mickeys are always hot and then they always (give or take a small handful of exceptions) cool. It's been that way for the almost 20 years I've been trading at the parks.

I am local. I go regularly. I have never bought hidden mickeys. I trade for them. And I still have never gotten two of the ones I wanted for my collection that came out years ago (the DLR and WDW chasers for the 2020 Marvel sets) because those have stayed rare and expensive. I also haven't gotten other chasers or super chasers because I don't buy them and won't trade insanely for them for the most part. It's a choice. And sometimes it means either a) overtrading for what you want or b) accepting that you may not get them immediately or in fact, ever.
