So here’s my most recent...
I’ve been super sick, like terribly sick but that just means I have more time to browse the inter webs for trades etc. So I facilitated several trades and purchases online and found out today that somehow I managed to swap the pins and send them to the Opposite individuals.
So trader A expecting some princess pins received instead a chip and dale pin
Trader B then was supposed to get chip and dale but has some princesses waiting for them.
Now communicating and pleading for patience from trader A while I chase trader B to get the pins back and clean up the mess I made. Honest mistake, my bad nonetheless...
The lesson: don’t ship pins while medicated..

I haven't shipped wrong pins, but I did mix up tracking numbers, unknowingly giving a pin trader the tracking number for a gift I mailed to my sis-in-law...Poor trader looked up their package to find it halfway across the country from where they expected it. Of course, they checked back with me without wigging out and were very polite about it, but I still felt/feel bad.
Also, don't depend on the rubber backers for your lanyard if you're out and about!!! Pin fell off and I didn't even know it. Thank goodness for honest peeps at the park, they saw it on the ground near me and asked it if was mine.
And from the title, I really thought you were going to talk about a time you were sorting through your pins and accidentally sat on one....
I have done both (sorta). My dad used to “help” me by being my “shipping department” it was only after WAY too many mistakes (including a number of bubble mailers that supposedly had been shipped randomly being “found” in the trunk of his car one day!!!) Pure nightmares! I have also on more than one occasion had him switch pins and had them mailed to the wrong people!
I often when I was in my early years of trading would agree to trade only to discover I no longer had the pin in question!
My worst story by far was definitely a lesson I will never forget. It actually involved a lot of DPFers and I never even told anyone because I was so embarrassed and mortified. Two years ago, I had a huge pin sale to help pay for some much-needed out-of-state medical treatment. In less than a weeks time (if I remember correctly it was about 48 hours) DPFers bought over $2,000 worth of pins from me. I was super grateful, but very sick and needing to fly out right away and struggling to be able to package and mail the pins. My ever so helpful dad (that I no longer let pack pins alone), insisted that I just put all the packed bubble mailers in a suitcase and he would mail them after we arrived. No worries. At the airport, they asked everybody for bags to check because it was a crowded flight, Dad volunteered our bag to free up his hands and be able to better help me. At the time, neither of us considered that we had over 2 grand of sold pins in that single bag! When we arrived, wouldn’t you know it, that was the bag that didn’t make it? And we flew nonstop! After 24 hours and still no bag, I was getting ready to write to everyone who had ordered from me and offer a full refund. Then, all of a sudden, when I was getting ready to actually deal with the reality of having lost ALL the orders, I got a call from the airline asking if I would like to pick up the bag or have it delivered. My jaw dropped! I told them not to move it! I would be there! I did not want it to be mishandled again! Ever since I haven’t let anyone transport my pins besides myself or the Post Office! Lol
