Do they annual pass holder pins get worth more? Like the series sets so Tour the Lore this year. Do they get wanted a lot since not everyone has passes and people may want it as they aren't able to buy it. I was just wondering as I do have passes so was wondering if I should start buying doubles to use one as a trader.

Thanks,
Corvyn

Great question!

In my experience, APs are a bigger gamble than the regular LE pins. They usually have higher LE numbers and for the most part are not sought out for these days. Older APs are where it's at in my opinion. However, your best bet is to collect the whole series ( traders love to see complete sets and if you have them then it can be traded all at once in a year or so) or collect popular characters. For example, the tickets that are currently out sometimes are on the racks for a month or longer; however, the stitch sold out the quickest. I would say obtain the set or just don't bother, because you'll end up with a trader that will be in your collection for a long time.

I would HIGHLY advise you to start going to DSF. Those ptds are traders gold right now. You can basically get anything you want (within reason). Very worth it. And with the limitation to one per person you have a higher chance of getting one for your collection.

Hope that helped. Good luck. :)

I like the ticket series and am trying to collect them if anyone wants to trade them. I do have the Stitch coming. That is the first of them I have gotten.

Each AP series is a hit or miss. I get to the park weekly, and pick up a lot of the park or pass exclusives for people. So I get to see some of the demand, wants or trade values... Not an expert obviously, but i do see what is doing well and flying off shelves VS what just sits there for a month or more.

The tour the lore tickets this year are cute. but I am not seeing much demand for them as traders or from folks buying them ((not many sell on my pin shoppe)) Being a slider, I think the idea of the pin is lost to most collections and is mostly good for folks who collect attraction pins.

The stained glass ones this year. very pretty, and Being stained glass, there are collectors for those. But they are still not "high demand" pins. The newest one, haunted mansion is absolutely lovely. I think this series is underrated. very pretty, might increase in trade value in a few years as a set.

Some of the older AP series, such as those keys we saw last year (was it 2012 or 2011?) were very sought after in trading and did well, but they seem to have dropped a bit since they stopped releasing them.

basically, because they are AP exclusive, they are neat pins, BUT since many pin traders are passholders, they dont need them. They appeal to the non-local collectors mostly. Being a high Edition size, makes it even less likely to trade well at the tables, and decreases long term trade value online.
