Jenna, I had that exact error as well, here is what I did after I had updated and enabled Java:

 


I checked this to be sure and still a no go.
 
I went on the addonchat website forums looking for a solution, they provided no information. Just said that they were working on a solution... yeah.
 
I've sort of been stalking this thread bc I can't get chat to work either (and never have been able to). Have you guys found any (even temporary) solutions?

My chat worked for a few weeks, then stopped working again... dont know why/how that happened... but it's not working anymore.
