I’m a new collector. I’m checking the pins I traded for at Disneyland in the spring of 2017 before I became aware of scrappers. What do you think about my Chip and Dale Character Selfie from 2016?

Do my colors look off compared to Pinpics?

    Thanks,

Yours looks real to me, pinpics pictures aren't always right or in the right light

Agreed with lighting comment. Pictures are never going to be exactly the same due to equipment and lighting. The PP picture looks over exposed and will cause the colors to look lighter.

I didn't think they made scrappers of those?

It looks good. Notice in your picture that the frame looks more yellow too - monitors and picture lighting can be really tricky and make you think it is off, when it isn't.

It is closer in color to yours. We are trying to add photos there that are taken in natural light - so that might help.

I posted this in a different thread but what do you think of this pin?

    Think this was pinpics.

Seems to be a pin with know counterfeits and scrappers.

Okay - scrapper notes are as follows:

Dark green part of tongue does not touch top of mouth in scrapper but appears to be floating
    -------
The entire pin is wrong shades of green and the horns are brown

It is hard to tell from your photo - are the horns brown or green?

If they are green, I might go with authentic on this pin.

    Any other opinions?

Never assume that there is only one counterfeit version of any pin. Remember, scrappers are bad production runs due to quality and should never leave the factory. If the design is different, it is counterfeit.

Wow - I have been going back and forth on this still. His tongue worries me a little, in that I am not sure if it is supposed to be all light green or if the bottom is supposed to be dark like the back of his mouth...
Also, the Mickey Head (silver hidden mickey emblem) seems a little off.

    Should it look like this?

Yes. I have seen scrappers with all sorts of different issues. Sometimes there are multiple versions. The notes I posted were the only ones listed.

The Mickey head is a little concerning as well as the right horn pattern. The background looks lighter but I'm not quick to believe everything I see in a picture due to lighting.

Horns are more silver to my eye.

I think what’s confusing to me is the pics online look different in different spots. I was thinking the horns were supposed to be silver.

Yeah, it is so tough looking online. Silver can look like black and all sorts of variations happen depending on lighting, monitor etc...
I think we need to land on scrapper here...
