I was inspired by the concept art for the wisps that I found in the Art of Brave book (which I highly recommend picking up if you haven't already), and created this necklace! It's made of sterling silver, with crystals for the eyes (no idea what brand as I salvaged them from a broken pair of earrings). I created it using lost wax casting, and a liver of sulfur patina (which I mostly polished off, but was effective in highlighting the texture of the piece). I did not make the chain.
Unfortunately my camera isn't so great at taking pictures of small items, so this image is the best I can do.

As you can see, I modified the concept art slightly- I thought the original piece looked a little alien, and I wanted mine to be cuter and more plant-like. It's by no means perfect- this was my first attempt at a wisp. Next, I think I'm going to try recreating this in blue clay- sort of a hybrid between the concept art and final movie version of the wisp.
Any constructive criticism would be appreciated (as would any suggests for further Disney-inspired art projects) :)

Omg!! Cute!!!! I love it! I have that book!! I don't really wear necklaces... but it would be awesome as a keychain or... a charm or something.

P.s. to take pictures of smaller items, change your camera settings to the flower or "mirco mode" :)

Thank you all for the compliments- and for the recommendation on camera settings.... I feel kinda silly for never having noticed that. :)

Don't feel silly!! I take a lot of pictures of small things, that's how I know... plus a photography class!!
