Hey everyone! My name is Samantha and I'm relatively new to the pin trading community. I used to buy pins here and there of the ones I liked, but never thought about trading.
I started trading like 2 months now and I love it!
I have a premium pass to disneyland so I'm at disneyland Alot.

I dont really know what I want to collect yet, I've seen people With tons of stitch pins, or princesses.

But I do know I love ALL the si and am pins. So I think I want those, theyre just so hard to find!

Currently I am working on the lion king puzzle.

I joined this site to hopefully make friends with some fellow pin traders.

can't wait to start trading and making friends!
 
Maybe we'll cross paths sometime at Disneyland! I like to go when it's not super busy (which is never now that it's summer) about twice a month, sometimes even more often. September and January through February rule (crowd wise!)

It takes a little while to figure out what you want to collect, and maybe you'll change your mind completely and sell a collection you once wanted to grow! The Lion King Puzzle was the first concrete collection of mine- where I knew exactly what I wanted and did a lot of trading to get the pieces I needed. I tend to buy, not trade, so this was a good experience for me. I bought a few really rare and beautiful Snow White pins off a lady here on the forum at original cost, and that is how my first collection started. A trip to the Soda Fountain in Hollywood and a lucky voucher got me started on my Little Mermaid collection- my goal is to make a musical under the sea scene!

Si and Am are wonderful villians, and I'm sure you'll find some additions to your new collection soon! Watch the Sales and Trading forums, and look through folks' traders on Pin Pics, you never know who might have something perfect for you. Oh, and don't forget to set up your own Pin Pics so that your friends:wavey: can keep an eye out for pins you want! Hehe!

Take your time deciding WHAT to collect...unless you really feel strongly. The neat--and maddening--thing about collecting a particular character is if you’re a completist. You want all pins of that character. Or event. Or ride. Or whatever. The maddening part is that if you want a less-common subject, it can be hard to even find them to buy/trade. The neat part is that there aren’t hundreds of different pins.

We started out (25 years ago?) picking up anything we liked. That’s when pins were less common in general, and often much smaller in physical size. Then we had a 10+ year mostly-hiatus. Now, I’ve pretty much limited myself to a few “sets”--except they’re not common, so finding them is very difficult. But it means I’m no longer spending money like a madwoman, so that’s good.

Hubby even bought me a pin on ebay for my birthday--a Club 33 pin (one of my sets) that we’ve seen for years. At that price, we checked out the seller as best we could to make sure s/he was legit (in this case, someone who had access to a variety of Club 33 items over time, and was selling a good variety of Club 33 stuff). So now I only “need” 6 more Club 33 pins. But they’re all rather expensive (as in a couple of hundred dollars each). Maybe one a year...?

Ya I know that I like the oliver and company pins, and the si and am pins, however I have realized how tough they are to come across.
Plus I have just started out with pin trading, so I don't have many traders.
But hopefully in the future I'll get some more pins
