I'm not quite sure what's going on here. Iv'e found some listings for #124244 where the quality of the frame is far superior to any of the typical search results.

Was there a change in production at some point. Or is there something else going on?
 
I have multiples of these pins that came from ShopDisney.com, I ordered one set and for some reason they sent me duplicates of three of the four pins, they all look like the PinPics examples. These are OE so it could be different molds use to make different batches?

I managed to order a full set with the nicer looking borders.

I'll see if it's just another case of the mold changing or if they all look like this.
 
I bought a Sally and a Jack at WDW. Didn't notice until I got home that the Jack frame was terrible quality compared to Sally. I think eventually, after a mould has been used a lot, it loses it's crispness and you end up with indistinct edges and details.
