Hello pin community,
My name is Tim and its official................I've become addicted to pins. I told myself I wouldn't, but since my snowglobe and plate collecting is a thing of the past, it looks like this is the next big thing for me. Me and my two girls just got back from the annual Dayton Disneyana convention and went a little nuts with trading and buying and now I already have my most wanted list. I even picked up some Toky Disney Sea prize pins in a silent auction that i'm told you can't normally buy and got em for $28 for 5 pins. Did I do good on those? I hope i did. Anyway I'm glad to be part of this community and hope we can do some trading, buying, selling, or just chatting about pins.

I LOVE the Tokyo prize pins, especially the Stitch ones! Such cute designs. I'd say $28 for 5 pins was a pretty good deal. I'd love to see which ones you got!
 
Thank you Sara and Caroline. I tried adding the picture i took of the pins, but since i'm new to this I'm having trouble. However i did see them on pinpics.com. They are numbers 85095-85099. From what info is on there, they were released in 2011 as consolation prizes and are already retired. So should i hold on to them or are they valuable enough to trade for some pins in the Disney Dreams Collection?

Sorry, I'm still a newbie myself, so I don't really know the value of most pins yet.

But I can tell you two ways you can find out yourself:

(01) Go on the pin's PinPics page, and look at the numbers next to "Members Trading" and "Members Wanting.". If the "Members Trading" number is very low, and the "Members Wanting" number is pretty high, your pin is highly sought after. The more people want your pin, the better your chances of trading it for the pins you're looking for.

(02) eBay is your other big tell. Search for your pins and see how much they're currently being auctioned off as. Value is relative with pins (one man's trash, another man's treasure) but eBay will generally give you a good idea of their monetary value.
