My name is Chris and I am new to this Forum as well as Disney Pins. My wife and I live in VA with our 2 kids and make it down to WDW once a year. The last two years, my kids (7 and 10) have gotten into the pins. This past February when we were in Disney, I became intrigued with the pins. I did not make a purchase for myself and to this day I still do not own a pin. I would look and look, but there were so many that I liked that I couldn't make a decision on what to buy, but that is about to change.

There are SO many pins out there, I really don't know where to start. Trying to figure out a monthly budget on what I would like to spend as this seems like a hobby that could get out of hand $$$ wise if you let it. haha.

Over the past 5 months I have done a lot of research and learned a lot about all the different kinds of pins available, limited editions, scrappers, counterfits, etc. Just signed up for this forum a few days ago, but have learned a lot in those few days. Still have a lot of questions and a lot to learn, but basically just wanted to introduce myself and say hi.

Looking forward to starting my collection and being a part of this community!

Thanks for the welcome.

Mary - I imagine that was some adjustment moving from VA to Japan. I live in Southwest VA. Let me say "Welcome Back" a few weeks early...

Welcome Chris! Feel free to ask the team questions! There is a lot of knowledge here. Use it! I see you like up? You picked a tough character team.... They are well liked and the pins are awesome! Good luck on your collection. Hope we can trade soon!

Hello and welcome! Good plan on setting a budget. I started here just a couple months ago and didn't think to set a budget, and I definitely went overboard in spending at the DPF Marketplace! I'm setting a budget now but who knows if I can hold to it. Good luck!

Hi Chris,

Welcome of the forum. Good luck on keeping to the budget. With the pinpics database now approaching 10,000 pins even Bill Gates might find a budget contraint!

Thanks again for the warm welcome. I can already tell sticking to a budget is going to be TOUGH, but I'm going to try my best.

Catz - I'm starting to see what you mean by the UP pins being a tough character team.

Aloha Chris and Welcome! :wavey:

Doing research on these pins is very smart, especially since there are so many out there. If you find that you have any questions about pins or pin collecting, don't hesitate to ask them. I'm sure that someone (or several someones) will be more than happy to answer them for you.

Hi Chris

I recently moved to VA from CA. Its been interesting. At one point there was talk about a MD meet; and in Oct. there is the New Jersey pin meet.

Hope you enjoy your new hobby.

I would certainly be interested in a meet in MD, even though that is still a little over 4 hours away from where I live in VA. But that's better than the 13 hours away I live from WDW.

Thanks for the welcome.
