I'm Spectromen, a 41yo guy here in Orange County that collects pins. I started probably around the late 80's when the Disney Store sold a few (remember those Aurora, Snow White and Cinderella oval shaped ones?) and gradually increased over the years. I was a CM from 92-98 and picked up quite a few CM only pins, but the insane obsession didn't really start until the internet came around. Now that I'm a passholder, I can go anytime and I pick up at least a few pins per month. I recently tried to get organized and took ALL pins off their backs and put them in a huge sack in preparation for placing them in books by category. I didn't count, but I am estimating in the arena of 500 pins :anxious:

I don't trade very much for two reasons: 1) Most of what I buy is meant for my permanent collection and 2) I'm too shy to try to negotiate deals at the trading events! However, I've recently tried buying new LE pins that I don't want so that I can bring them to WDW and try to trade with locals who might want some CA-based stuff in exchange for their FL stuff. We'll see how that goes.

I am on pintalk as well, but I find the boards there are not very well attended, so thought I'd try over here. Thanks!

Hiya and welcome to the forums! It's nice to hear you've been collecting for a while, I first started in 1999 but kind of lost touch with it all and finally dusted of my pin collection and got back in to it this year! Look forward to seeing you around here!
