Hi folks! Brand new newbie to the world of pins but I'm fascinated by it all. I'm a 40 something father of 4 taking the family to WDW this Christmas. My wife is a Disney vet but it'll be a new experience for me. Very excited to take the kids (well, the 6 yr old, 4 yr old and 2 yr old. The 20 yr old can't make it). Anyway,while researching and planning the trip, I came across references to pins, pin trading, etc. After asking the wife, she filled me in to a degree. She however never collected pins so her knowledge was a bit limited. So, I've been looking for a thread with a "glossary" of terms. Could anyone point me in the right direction? By the way, I really like the "patriotic" themed pins. Also, I really like "Star Wars" and "Pete's Dragon" pins as seeing those movies were my first "movie" experiences as a wee lad!
 
Welcome to the forum! An Christmas is the best time to go, in my opinion. The three times I've been there, twice has been December and it was great! Maybe we'll run into each other! Hahha!

You're going to love WDW at Christmas. I think it's the most magical time of year to go. :) I usually go every year at that time, so who knows, we may run into each other this year.
