My name is Kim and I just got back from my first trip to Disney in 20 years and got the pin bug.

I got a lanyard and bought some pins. I'm still settling in and figuring out what I want. I know I love cats, I bought a figuro at WDW Village (I think its downtown disney now)

We are heading back in the fall. Not sure about trading, do you just go up to a CM and ask?

Hi there! Welcome! I'm collecting cats too, Lucifer and Si and Am. Lucifer is just too funny and Si and Am remind me of my own little Siamese cat, Hera. Have fun looking at all the pins. Go to pinpics.com and you can spend days just looking at all the pins available. I was amazed when I found that site after our first trip to WDW.

As for trading at the parks, we asked the CMs that we saw, and checked every board and pin shop/cart/kiosk we could find. It was so much fun!

Aloha Kim and Welcome! :wavey:

To answer your question about trading with CMs: yes, it's just as simple as going up and *politely* asking to see his/her pins. If you see a pin (or pins) that you would like to trade for, just indicate which pins you are interested in by gesturing and using words (never touch a CM's lanyard) and the CM will make the trade with you. Always trade the pins with the backs still on. The CM will/should accept any authorized Disney pin that isn't already on his/her lanyard. You are permitted to trade two pins with a CM per person per day. If you don't see anything you are interested in trading for, that's okay; you are not obligated to make a trade. Also, don't forget to thank the CM, whether or not you make the trade (good manners and pin etiquette are rare these days and oh so appreciated by CMs, you have no idea).

Hope this helps and happy trading (when you go back).

How Do You Do Kim. You are going to be right at home here with a bunch of fellow pin lovers and addicts. Glad to hear you enjoyed your last trip to Disney and with all the information and friendly people around here by your next trip you will be a pin pro. Feel free to contact me if you ever have any questions about pin trading. I wish you the best with your kitty collection and happy pin trading/collecting
