I actually joined in late June under the profile BKLYN_Pins but all I could do was PM people... So some of you guys are familiar with me already but to the rest of the DPF community I'd like to introduce myself...

I've made some purchases from several people on the forum and several others have been nice enough to answer my questions via PMs so I appreciate it.

Just took up the hobby after a May trip to DLR where my fiancee and I went pin crazy. Let me ask this question, I purchased a lot from a WDW Cast Member and got an ok deal on many HMs I planned on using for traders not realizing that nobody besides 6-7 yr olds actually wants HMs. Do you think I should be wary that they are mostly scrappers? The person was a CM and it was more than a 100 pins which I assumed was her personal collection. I think a few are scrappers but I am just not sure about the rest...

Any help you can offer going forward is greatly appreciated... I am up for trading and I have a couple of things I've noticed people have been interested in.

Hello from a fellow Brooklynite! (well I'm in Long Island now, but born and raised in Brooklyn :) )

Unfortunately my experience with large lots is that they are mostly srappers. There are a bunch of posts that can tell you the signs to look out for...the site won't let me link at the moment :/ I'm sorry that wasn't much help, but I wanted to say hi!
 
Hi and welcome! :wavey: There are lots of people who like HMs, they just aren't that valuable for trading except for a few characters. You can usually trade them for other HMs and some booster set or OE pins though, as long as they are authentic. You can post pics in the pin comparison section and we can help you determine if the HMs are authentic.

There's pretty good info on pinpics about most of the ones that have scrappers out there. Anything that pinpics doesn't help you with, we'll be happy to help in the Pin Comparison section of the forum.
