Hi guys, I'm in desperate need of some help on how to handle a trade gone wrong. I won't put the person on blast, but need help, from experience or in general on routes to take next.

Here's the story in a nutshell. Presale for the Beauty and the Beast PODM happened in early November. So we exchanged emails about getting in on it, and finally I purchased one of her 10 or so slots. So November goes by and the release date comes and goes. Being #10 I expect communication by Monday at the latest to let me know whats going on (giving 1-9 persons their choice in a timely manner etc.). I get word by Tuesday, no problem. But then I get a long unnecessary (in my opinion) story about her grandson being sick, which then went to her family and her getting sick the night before the release. Then she goes on about how she lost 3 people that were supposed to go with them and help get what I assume is 6 total pins. So they were working things out to get more pins. Then I get something about her washer & dryer being broken, not really my concern. So she says sorry for the delay and she will be in touch within the next few days to finalize things.

4 days go by, she says she is waiting on person #9 to take their pick, that was 12/1. Somehow when I return an email saying please send to a particular email once the other person picks, I get something to look at. That was awesome, was 5 hours later from when she sent her latest reply. So I don't get a clear picture, is really blurry and ask for a new one. She says is the only one they have, and I ask for a new one that just clears it up, says they can't do anything about it. By this time, the wife and I are seriously thinking of a refund and pay a little more. So we discuss and decide to just get a refund. 12/2 I send a request to just refund us, and on 12/5 send another PM to get status of our refund via Paypal. I get an instant PM that day saying she's been handling a few other things (new camera and trading for another BATB PODM). She then asks us if we have any interest in that one, of which we haven't seen. So I bite, and ask for a new picture of that one. That was all on 12/5, and I've not heard back since, going on two weeks. I've sent an email and 2-3 PMs via DPF.

I've looked on here on how to deal with these situations and don't think I've found anything. I read a lot about trading at your own risk, but wasn't sure if there was something I could do. She had a good feedback score with no negatives, so is why I hadn't thought about this. I just don't know what to do next, can't request refund via Paypal as transaction was as "Gift". Please let me know anything you guys have, or am I SOL and just wait it out. Thanks in advance..

Things in life do happen, but 2 weeks does seem a bit long =/

You could always PM an admin to have them try and look into it?

Also, try emailing the person through their paypal email (my paypal email is also my main email), and try getting a response that way?

If something did come up in their life, I would only think it polite to let you know what was going on so you dont think worse case scenario, but unfortunately not everyone thinks in the same manor.

That is my 2 cents :p

I see it and its be forward to the MODS part of the forum, hopefully Bryan will get to you asap, also posted the link to the original sale as well as the one here on your post.Hopefully it will get resolved soon

The exact same thing happened to me. I actually ordered both the BATB and Pluto's Christmas from this same seller. Seller said she was having trouble with the BATB pins and I've yet to see a picture or pin. I received pics of the Pluto's Christmas, picked one, and still haven't heard back or received any pins. I have purchased from this seller a couple of times as well as traded with her before with no problems, so I too am wondering what's going on. I hope everything is okay. Is there any way I can get an update as well once the MODS find out what's going on?

I emailed a few of the MODS and have yet to hear anything from them. Hoping this can get resolved too. Sorry to hear about your transaction gone wrong, hoping not by the same person.

1. When did you pay the person?
2. Even if you sent as a gift, did you use PayPal funds or a credit card?
3. If already existing funds, no way to get PayPal involved. If with credit card, you can dispute the charge with your credit card company.
4. Check to see when the user has most recently been online.

Have you advised the person that you do not want to complete the transaction? If not, do so immediately. Send her an email to her paypal email address (where you sent payment to) and cc yourself. Advise her that you request a refund of your payment by x date. Decide how many days you want to give the seller.

1) We paid her Nov 2 for a release of Nov 23
2) We paid via Paypal funds (bank account)
3) Yea, I tried putting a dispute against that transaction and wasn't able to.
4) User has not been on since Dec 11, which is around the last time I heard from her. Also, just noticed another person on DPF has left a negative score, probably same issue as I'm having with presale.

I actually did exactly what you suggested last week (email with deadline), and have not heard anything. As much as I hate throwing $ away, probably going to have to write this transaction off, but wish the MODS would/could do something else to help us get in contact with the user, or even block their account.

Send her one final email and advise that you will be filing a complaint with the USPS for mail fraud by x date if you don't get your money back.

Give her 5 days (or less).

Then file a complaint with the USPS for mail fraud. You can file one online at: http://www.usps.com

If this is the person i think it is, she is not avoiding you only... she seems to have dropped of the face of the earth. I have something of hers and she has not contacted me about getting it back either. It makes me concerned.
