I got these in a trade.

I am sure I am just being paranoid but here are the pins in question

The first picture is of the entire 6 pin set. Here you can see a couple of issues. The far right pin is Master Gracie. He has some borders and is really light. Scrapper light. The mickeys are fine which is odd. The thickness of this pin is smaller than the others in the set.

The second picture is a bit odd too. If you look at the lower hand at the bottom you will see a streak of color. This is actually on 2 of the pins and it is hard to show on camera.

Here is a picture of the double post and some discoloration around the post too. Sorry for the picture quality

Last picture. Super blurry but you can see this dark dark ring around the one post.

Thoughts?

Maybe someone else might know more, but the backs of these pins look legit to me (although the pattern on the 'blue' pins in the top of the pic is hard to see). I have seen a lot of color variation on the backs of the Haunted Mansion vinylmation pins. I am not sure what process was used to paint/coat them, but it does not always provide clean, smooth coverage on the backs. Two of the pins from the pack I bought at WDW actually have small drip marks on the backs. Hope this helps.

In my humble opinion, I believe these to be legit. As mentioned by another member, there have been wide variations with the coloring on the back of these pins.

The bottom right pin looks like the post was glued back on badly in my opinion
That gold one looks like it has a border on it...you can actually see it...can you take a picture of how thick the pins are?

I did not realize that these pins had different colored backs than normal pins. Remember, this is the type of thing that probably adds cost to the production of a pin. The people making the overruns/counterfeits have a thin profit margin to work with and unless people have seen scrappers of pins with colored backs, I don't think this is something the shady manufacturers would do. But it is something that Disney might do to dissuade the fakes.

As far as the pin on the lower right is concerned, a lighter pic of the pin in question might help clear this up. On the gold one, I'm really not seeing the "border" that exists on the counterfeit pins. IMHO - There is a little edge consistant with a die cut pin, not the thick border of a mold cast counterfeit pin.
