So I sent out pin requests last night and got a response from one trader asking for what I see is a very lopsided trade. It was 5 of my pins for his set of pins. One of the pins that he requested was a Limited Edition pin.

He told me that he wasn't a collector but a business man and that he didn't take into consideration the face of trades vs wants or if the pin is a open edition or limited edition pin.

If anyone wants to know what was offered please message me. I would like some help to see if it was a fair trade or if he was trying to take me for all of my pins.
 
Just pop up the pinpics numbers of yours and his. Some LE's aren't worth much at all. Even low LE sizes like LE300 if the pin sucks then the value sucks. I still wouldn't trade an LE for a new hidden mickey, but there are older hidden mickey's I want that I'd consider an LE for. Just depends, hard to say without knowing which pins you're talking about.
 
It would be easier to see if you can post the pinpics ID's but it sounds like you've encountered a "trader" (I shudder at calling him/her that) that was mentioned here on the forums not all that long ago and people had a lot to say then so hopefully with the pin ID's you'll get a lot of feedback from DPF people
 
Am I allowed to post the ID name of a pin pics user? Thought you couldn't since you couldn't post ebay users. I just don't want the person harassed with nasty emails if someone has had contact with the user.
 
Yeah this is reminding me of Applecore's thread "Traders vs. Sellers". Either way this all sounds pretty crazy if you ask me. Also if I remember correctly I think people where posting the persons name on Applecore's thread and they ended up having to blank out the persons name every time somebody mentioned it. It sounds like this could be the same person though. I think PMing other members of DPF is the way they want us to go about sharing specific information like this.

He wrote back"Its on your want list"I told him,yes it is but I am NOT trading you a LE 500 for it,as it had a scrapper warning as well
 
That's really sad and hard to believe, but in a way I kind of find it humorous that a person can even be like that. I am very sorry to hear about everyone's negative encounters with this person.

 
I've had at least 3 offers of commonly scrappered HM's for one of my Paris PTN pins... Even though one is in my sig as a most wanted I still want to get it in a fair trade and get a real one! (should have it coming soon in a trade anyway ^_^ )
 
I think it is the same person in Applecore's thread plus other threads as well. I wish we could warn others about that since it is not a hobby to him, but a business. I know whenever I see his user name on my pending trades, I delete it since I do not want to deal with him
 
I got one of those today too. I was like "huh??". I just deleted it as their logic makes no sense. they said they don't trade "even" or trade "down" but yet they don't take wants/trades or LE size into consideration. don't those two things combined kinda help direct the value of the pin on eBay? and the additional pin he wanted was crappy and I totally would have thrown it in but I decided not to trade with him on principal. It was just too weird..

Well he ended up calling my 5 pins $35 worth of crap. I told him off that it was rude to say that my pins were crap and that before then I had been willing to work out a trade but since he didn't consider this a hobby that I would not work with him again.
 
I know which pinpics trader you refur to, I have traded once or twice with them. Sometimes he actually offers something better than what you were cosidering, but not often. Good on you for telling him to piss off for calling your pins crap. His notion of good pins is skewed anyway. I leave the TR's to him anyway because once I got a super pin as a counter offer. The fool didn't look at trade vs wants when he offered it.

If I wanted to sell my pins I would be selling them on here or somewhere else. Though I am thinking of selling some of my pins here since I am getting married next year.
