Hello DPF,

My name is Dave, and I'm a former cast member. I used to manage the pins for Disney Auctions and DSI for a couple of years. I left the happiest company on earth in 2009 to become a firefighter, and I have a decent sized collection of pins that I've decided to sell. I was going to post them on eBay, but a pin customer who I've stayed in touch with recommended I bring the collection to DPF.com first. The collection includes a couple of AP3 sets, a couple of artist autographed pins, and quite a few Jessica Rabbit LE100's. I also have quite a few Stitch and Tink pins, and some other random pins. I'm still in the process of cataloging and photgraphing the entire collection, but I wanted to find out the best approach to unveiling these pins on this site. Any feedback will be appreciated.

Welcome to the boards Dave. I would suggest heading over to PinPics.com and posting all of your pins on there in your trades pins and then come here with the numbers of the pins and the prices. I will keep a eye out for your post about what pins you have and your prices.
 
Well, my opinion is that it would probably be good to photograph the pins as well as make a Pinpics account (Pinpics.com) and make a 'trades' list which will actually be your sales list!
Then add your Pinpics name to your DPF profile under 'settings' :)
I as well cannot wait to see the pins you have for sale! I imagine you have hundreds of amazing pins, Many, MANY thanks to the person who referred you here!!

Hi everyone.

First, I want to say thank you. Everyone's been very friendly and welcoming on this site. I've gotten a couple of messages on the side, and even had a Friend Request! Wow, it's like Facebook!

I also have a question. I'm about 100 pins in on my cataloging, and I've run across a couple of sets: Easter and St. Patrick's Day 2007. These were the 'mystery sets' where there was a possibility of 8 pins, but only 4 came in the set, so you never knew what you were going to get. They're each in their boxes, which are slightly damaged, but the pins are still like new. My question is, do people usually post and sell these sets together, or break them up and sell them individually?

Thanks again everyone. And if you send me a message or a friend request or anything else this site has to offer, and I take awhile getting back to you, not too worry. I just haven't seen it yet. I'm still exploring.

mystery set really vary person to person I have typically seen them being sold separately but many people do sell them as a whole. I guess what I'm trying to say is it is really up to you on how you want to sell them.

Thanks. I'm trying to get the info out there without breaking any rules. I don't have all of my pricing yet, so my entire list isn't ready for posting in the sales forum yet. Plus there isn't enough room to upload all of my pics. I'm working on a smaller sales thread now, though. Just 15 or so pins.

While your list is impressive and I do appreciate you including whether or not the pin is an AP as well its actual size, if I might make a small suggestion or two ... . I think this thread will be far more effective if you would post actual photos of these pins next to the descriptions instead of just your descriptions. While many of us probably do know which pins you are referencing, there might be some who don't - and in any case, I think it would be better to not have to go searching through Pin Pics if we want to see images of the pins. Alternately, if you don't want to photograph these pins for whatever reason, I would post either the photos from Pin Pics or embed active links to them so those who are interested can check out your pins easily enough. I especially would do this for your sales thread.

I also would sort your list up by either character, edition size, or maybe both. You've got amazing pins and I really do want to see what you've got, but listed the way you have, it's kind of disorganized and it makes me feel that I'd almost be afraid that I'd miss something in your listings.

Sorry to give you so many suggestions, but you did ask for feedback. I just hope this is what you wanted and I hope it helps. Again, welcome!
