Hi everybody! I'm new to the forum and new to pin collecting. :)

I went to DLR for the first time in January and I had a great time. I didn't know anything about pin collecting, but my friend who took me said I should get a button saying "First visit." (Little did I know his motivation was to see me and all the babies get greeted by every cast member!) Well, when we went to the customer service to get the button I complimented the cast member's lanyard and she told me about pin collecting. I decided to try it and bought a starter pin set...then I traded all my pins with cast members but I got all scrappers. :facepalm:
Of course I had no idea what scrappers were until I read more about it here!

Anyway, I kind of wanted to collect Brave pins but most of them cost more than I want to spend, so I'm not going for a totally complete collection. :) I also like pins with rainbows on them and marine life.

I was thinking about going to the DSF for a pin release because I live pretty close...is there a thread on here that tells you how to shop there? (I've read stuff about wristbands and lines forming really early??) Not sure if I'm that hardcore yet but just wanted to know! :)

to answer your DSF question, no not that I am aware of is there a thread that tells how to shop there, however if you ask whos going, or introduce yourself in line, Im sure you will find folks from here, our own TheOtherSteve is quite famous for posting and reporting live from the DSF releases, and more than a few of the long timers,go so you should find lots of advice easily,,,, I hope this answers your question and helps!???
 
Welcome to the Forum! Click on the "new posts" at the top and scroll down until you find the April DSF releases thread. You can see just how crazy that release is going to be! But if you can go and get all those release pins, you are guaranteed to be able to make some great trades!
 
Welcome and good luck at DSF! I also got a few scrappers, but I decided to make a nice frame of them and serve as a reminder of what to look out for, even if they look semi nice... :)
 
Welcome! The same thing happened to me when I traded at Disneyland in December. All but one of the pins I traded for were scrappers. It really kind of hard when you only have a moment to look over a pin and the lighting isn't great to always be able to spot the scrappers. Some are fairly obvious, others aren't. You will have much better luck trading here.
