How do we make payments?

It might not be the smartest question, but I'm just wondering how we make payments if we are interested in buying from other members through the for sale section. Sorry for the inconvenience, I'm just curious about these little things.

You should leave a comment in their thread to let them know you're interested and private message them to confirm the deal/make arrangements for payment and shipping. Payment is generally done through PayPal.

Also, when paying through PayPal, you should be paying through "goods and services" (unless you know personally and trust the seller, then you can do as "friends and family"). The G&S option will charge a fee, which is paid by the seller (but sellers can recalculate so it's a shared cost or whatever.. this is normal practice), and this fee is basically buyer protection service. In the worst case that a seller doesn't send you the pins or it gets lost in the mail or something, PayPal will either make the seller send you a refund OR will give a refund themselves (if the seller is not at fault).

Keep in mind that while PayPal tends to be the norm, there are other options such as sending check/money order through the mail(cash payment not recommended via post in case it gets lost). I have actually dealt with the latter several years ago on one of my sales thread. But it is generally up to the preference of the seller.

Actually, PayPal is via PayPal goods ONLY in the sales portion of the forum. All prices listed are to be inclusive of fees as well. No other method of payment is permitted, although I suppose the parties involved could discuss it via PM.

Most of us know one buyer who doesn't have PayPal. In that alternative, discussion via PM is fine.

Asking your buyer to pay your fees is also against Paypal policy, even if it is "the norm". The only time I personally believe it's fair to ask for fees is when it's a strict pickup item, since I do agree the person doing the pickup should get all of their money back. Factor in your fees into your asking price, just don't single them out as specifically covering your fee.
