I was wondering how long a time passes into a trade window before you wonder if you were going to get your pin.

I did a trade on May 18th via PinPics with what I am assuming is a cast member since it was for a WDW Cast Member pin, and I believe they are a member here as well. I promptly mailed my pin out, and tracking shows it was delivered in Florida on the 21st. I am in Maryland, so it should be a short trip either way.

It is now the 28th. I sent an e-mail on the 26th asking if it had been sent yesterday, and in turn no response, but I see that they posted here last night (if I am right about who they are) so it makes me wonder, should I be worried? How long before you worry about the trade going south?

Good question. I traded with a [trader] from Pacoima, California 10 days ago. No response to two emails in the past two days about when he mailed mine. I'll probably notify Pinpics if the nonresponsiveness continues (as well as google him and try to find a phone number).

I usually give it a week. I know that sometimes you can't get to the post office for whatever reason (happens to me on occasion). But as soon as its been a week, I message the trader. I don't know if a week is too long, but I don't mind giving people a little bit of extra time.

I agree 1 to 2 weeks anything over (especially if they're not answering your messages) theres something wrong. Even if you send something out a week later it still gets there in three days at the most .

I usually give it 2 weeks at the most for trades in the USA and 3 weeks over seas I really hope you get your pin :(

+1

I think pestering someone if it has only been a week is pushing it. We all know the post can get hung up sometimes. Two weeks is an adequate amount of time to give before you start asking questions. Three for international.

Here is what PinPics says in terms of how much time you have to wait before you file a complaint...

You must have attempted for at least one week to contact the trader by e-mail with no response, OR it has been at least three weeks since you mailed your pins and you still have not received the trade.

Once the above time period has passed, then definitely file a complaint with the PinPics mods. Make sure when you file a complaint to provide the e-mails with the trade agreement by posting them as a note on the complaint record.

I give two weeks for USA (where I am) and about a month for international, give or take. For my own experience, pins coming from Japan usually get to me pretty quickly (within two weeks). From Europe usually takes about 3-4, with France (don't know why) taking the longest time.

Btw...CM pins aren't owned/for trade only by CMs. Many non-CMs own and trade them.

I hope your pins get to you soon!

I usually give about 2 weeks for domestic trades and a month for international trades before I start asking questions. Just because your pin was processed through the post offices quickly and efficiently doesn't mean you can or should expect all post offices to work the same way. I've had pins arrive weeks to months late ... but the kicker is that they all were *postmarked* exactly when the senders said they would be, which means that the delays all were caused by the post offices.

And it's also possible that things have come up and the person you're trading with might not have be able to make it to the post office right away, or maybe only mails pins on certain days (I think this should be disclosed in the pre-mail discussions, though), which could lead to a delay in when you receive your pin.

One other thing ... just because the person is posting on the boards does not necessarily mean that he/she is at home. I frequently check the forums and post from both my iPhone and iPad when I am away from home. If this person has a mobile phone and/or tablet, he/she may be doing the same if away from home ... or may just be posting from a laptop.

That being said, I hope this works out for you and you get your pin! :)
