Hi everyone,
I hope this is the right place to ask this question. I've searched and could not find an answer, so my apologies if it was asked before.

Anyway..
I was considering trading some of my LE Disney dolls on this site, so what exactly are the proper steps to a safe online trade? Of course I would be using PayPal. If anyone could help, I'd honestly appreciate it!

Hello, we have a other collectibles section in this forum that you can make a thread and post pictures of the dolls you are looking to trade and what you would like to trade them for. Unfortunately trading online is not safe but there are some things you can do to protect yourself.

Before you trade always look at the persons feedback and communicate clearly what you are sending them and what they are sending you. A trade is not fully set up until both parties agree to the items and addresses are exchanged. Try to set up a time limit on when the item(s) will be mailed out on both sides. The item(s) should be sent with a tracking number and insurance if it is high valued. If something sounds to good to be true then it probably is and always trust your gut, if it doesn't feel right don't do it. Always keep the communication (PMs or emails) about the trade. Even if you follow all these steps there is still a risk involved with trading online.

Also, you can use a Moderator as a third party which means both parties would send the item(s) to the Moderator and when the items are received the Moderator will send both parties the item(s) that they go to and finish the trade.

If you are buying items never send money, cashier checks, or back checks these are never safe payments to use. When using Paypal always pay as goods, when you pay as Goods you are under their protection policy.

Hope this helps.

Rachel,I can step in the third party spot too...I have helped several traders in the past ,so if you need me I am here too

Thanks for your help. I never thought to have a 3rd person as a part of the trade, sounds like a good idea.
