Hi,
My name is Melinda. I have been on the DPF for a while but I haven't taken the time to introduce myself. I live in North Georgia in a very small town. My best friend and I travel to WDW at least three times a year. We go more for long weekends when we can.
This pin trading all started quite simply. All I wanted was one monorail pin I hadn't seen in any of the shops. So, we decided to trade the cast member a pin. It turns out it was a Disneyland pin from a few years back. The monorail is so special to me because I remember riding it into the park when my parents and I came to WDW the first time in 1973. It was really magical.
Well after that it has been one pin after another. My friend collects Alice, Brave, and Muppets. I mostly collect Tigger, Chernabog and Mickey Icons. Really we collect anything that catches our eye. Lets just be honest.
My husband has never been to Disney. He will not go. My friend and her husband go often but he is not a pin trader. So for pin events its just the two of us. I am looking forward to the next pin event in September. Someday I would like to visit the other parks. We made our first visit to Disneyland last year.
I hate scrappers and I think that anyone who trades or sells them on purpose should be arrested.
I have met some really nice people here and I hope to meet some of you at the Villians Event.
