Hi

Would anyone be able to give me any information about the following pin? Do you think it would carry much trade value? Thank you in advance for your help.

-Mike

Hi,

What you have is an old style Fantasy pin. That means it wasn't made by Disney, so that means it won't be valued by a lot of people, unfortunately. This is why the pin doesn't have an obvious Mickey, but sort of Mickey symbols like a Sorcerer Hat or white glove. It is not meant to infringe on Disney's copyright.

However, what is really cool about your pin is that it looks like it was signed by Sam McKim. Sam worked as an Illustrator for what is now Imagineering. He created a lot of the concept art for the Golden Horseshoe, Mr. Lincoln, Pirates, Carousel of Progress and more. He also was responsible for creating the artwork for the old, large wall-sized park maps that were released throughout the decades. He also designed the machines for the old arcades (not the more modern video games). Most of those are gone but Fortune Red remains.

^ That's so cool! I love the pin's history - and the pin! (Although it does remind me a tad of the illuminati symbol. I guess that Disney can be a cult in itself though. ) Hopemax, your pin knowledge is astounding!
