Okay, so after a really long title which I hope grabbed some attention, I have a VERY serious problem. If you know me, you probably know that above anything else is my obsession with the video game Kingdom Hearts. Well, the next title in the series, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix will be coming out on Sept. 10 BUT Square Enix and Disney are hosting a pre-launch party in Downtown Disney in Anaheim, CA on Sept. 8 (this Sunday).

Here is a quick rundown of the event from the official Kingdom Hearts Facebook page:

We’d like to officially invite all KINGDOM HEARTS fans to come celebrate the launch of KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 ReMIX at the Downtown Disney District in Anaheim, CA!

We will have lots of activities for the KINGDOM HEARTS community as well as for the entire family, and best of all….there’s no admission fee!

Below are just some of the amazing things to look forward to at the launch event:

• Buy the game two days before anyone else! Not only that, but you’ll be getting the exclusive artbook AND the PS3 dynamic theme! Quantities are limited, so make sure to show up early.
• Win apparel, pins, action figures, official merchandise and other goodies signed by KINGDOM HEARTS game director Tetsuya Nomura! Winning is contingent on purchase of the game.
• Participate with fellow KINGDOM HEARTS fans in an evolving interactive KINGDOM HEARTS game mural!
• Immortalize yourself, your family, or your friends in a photobooth that transports you to different Disney worlds along with the one and only Kingdom Keyblade!
• Get FREE an exclusive KINGDOM HEARTS poster to early attendees, not obtainable anywhere else! Posters are available in limited quantities.
• Play the game before it comes out!
• Party with the Radio Disney team!

The event will last from 12 pm - 6 pm right next to the ESPN Zone and there will be a bunch of fun stuff to do. That's not why I need help, I need help with specifically 2 bullet points I'll address below:

I don't know the LE size, but a poster will be given out to the first few attendees. I do not know what the poster will look like, but I have a hunch and I am VERY interested in the poster. I'm assuming they will have a bunch of them, but they say the "first few attendees" in case they run out (which they will). If anyone can show up and snag me one I'd be oh so grateful.

The second, VERY important bullet:

I have wanted something (anything) signed by Tetsuya Nomura (the creator of the series) since I first started collecting KH merchandise close to a decade ago. He rarely ever signs things (until this year :lol:) and now he has signed a whole bunch of stuff but they have been given away in raffles and I have never been fortunate enough to win something (the chances are very slim considering how many people enter these events). If anyone can go and win something by any chance signed by him, I don't know what I'd do. Seriously, that's an open-ended question because I have no idea what I would do if I could own something signed by him. I guarantee they won't have a lot though (they might have 3 or 4 pieces AT MOST signed by him, definitely not all the things they have mentioned).

JUST AS IMPORTANT, the way they specifically address "pins." I have a feeling that a new KH pin might be released at the event. In the past 2 years, 1 KH pin has been released by Disney each year around the months of August-September. This would be the perfect time and I don't see what other "pins" they would be talking about since all other KH pins have been discontinued and sold out. If a new Kingdom Hearts pin is released there, regardless of its LE size, it is automatic HOLY GRAIL in my book since Kingdom Hearts comes before anything in my eyes.

If anyone is attending or can quickly drop by to try and help me out with the pins, posters, SIGNED STUFF please let me know. I just left CA today and I'm quite upset after reading about this event but I had no choice considering college starts on Thursday.

I will try and get the poster for you if I can, but I'm not sure about the pins and other things because it says you have to buy the game in order to have a chance to win those. It sounds like an interesting event thanks for letting us know :)
 
Noooooooooo, I am feeling exactly the same way you described. Please if anyone could do this for me? I wold give you the money to buy the game for me, as I am planning on buying it and some of the merchandise is contingent on purchase.

Why, why, why does this happen exactly before I go to CA? I'm going to be crushed if I don't get anything from this event.

Please help me also if anyone can! Please!

Wow, you have to purchase something in order to win something?! Sounds a bit weird.

I'll most likely be working but I can get it off :P i must go!!! I'll try to help u out Matt. Hopefully it won't be impossible to win stuff, but I feel like I'm pretty bad with raffles haha
 
I need to buy the game a year, so if so e one can puck it up for me I can paypal money to purchase game and extra for ti e and trouble.
I would love any swag possible.

I can't make promises for extra ins and stuff though, I may not be as outspoken as others but Kingdom Hearts saved my life many years ago, so if I can only get one or something I'm not giving it up!

I'm going to see if I can convince a few of my friends to go so that way we can get extras and stuff.
 
Ah! Thank you everyone so much!!! PLEASE keep me updated :x: I also just saw that you have to purchase the game to be entered in the raffle so if anyone needs to, I'd be willing to pay them back since it comes with the artbook and theme (both of which I need as well). I think they will limit the game to 1 per person since they will try to crack down on people reselling the game days early and with the Dream Drop Distance event in NY I went to, they also did a 1 per person limit on the game and collector's edition.

PLEASE keep me updated everyone, I cannot wait and I'm so nervous over this awesome event. I really wish I could go >___<
 
FYI: On a KH FB group, at least 600 people have RSVP'd their "YES" to attending.

and the best part is that not nearly that amount will :lol: Perhaps the West Coast will fare better but there have been 2 Kingdom Hearts launch parties in NYC with a huge turnout, but the turnout was maybe 300 at best when over 700 people were planning on attending. In the UK, they had a meet up at Square Enix's official headquarters and only allowed 50 people to get tickets. Of those 50, less than 10 actually showed up <_< I have a feeling some people will just click "yes" but then forget about it (I'm hoping that happens haha).
 
I live in the south bay beach area about 30-40 min from disneyland. I can get there with my hubby, but he has work until 10 so I need to either find a way back or wait until his shift is over lol
 
I hate to ride the coattails of this convo, but if anyone can possibly get me a poster from the event, I'd be very happy to work something out for it! (I already have the game preordered, I just need the poster!!)
 
Shamelessly bumping this just to let everyone know that in 45 minutes I can officially say that this event takes place tomorrow (EST time at least)!!!! Also as a reminder to anyone who is attending or planning on attending ;)
