So after a pretty good scare last night wherein I thought I lost my DSF Rapunzel PTE (seriously, I thought Dan threw it out in an envelope, I was in tears ripping apart my whole apartment -- I found it, crisis averted), I think I would like to purchase a pin bag.

As my wall continues to get covered in shadowboxes, I'm learning that I have many pins that don't quite fit in with my main display collection, or ones that I'm not going to be able to frame until I get their companions, and I want to keep them safe. I've never had a pin bag before, so this is a combination "Want to Buy" and "What Suggestions Do You Have..." thread.

I saw a really cute one that I liked a lot at WDW two weeks ago, and I'm bumming that I didn't buy it then -- does anyone have the pin bag that matches this collection: http://www.disneystore.com/walt-disney-world-pin-starter-set-8-pc/mp/1302311/1000286/ ... the pin bag was blue with the same graphic on the front. There's one on eBay, but I'm not sure if that price is too high or not... I don't know what MSRP was for this particular design.

Alternatively, I'd like anything princess themed (if such a pin bag exists), pink, or honestly, I'd take even take a basic black one that I could stitch some of my princess patches to. Please, nothing with dates or specific to any attraction/park/event, etc.

I just need a pin bag, and I'd like to keep it fairly inexpensive, and I'd like it before the New England event on 3/10.

Good luck finding one! ^_^ There are quite a few old Princess themed bags (large and smaller ones), and there's also an ADORABLE pink Minnie quilted bag (a smaller one) that I got while in CA in the summer for $40 (I think)... the pages are pink and all my Princesses look lovely in there! Plus you could stitch some patches on too Good luck! <3 <3
 
In the past I bought few simple, plain black bags on Ebay that came to $15-$18 incl. shipping and I put some iron-on princess patches from Jo-Ann on the cover.

Sadly, the iron-on patches do not really work with well with iron (as the cover of cheap pin bags are thin and nylon like fabric) but fabric glue or something similar can do the trick. I ended up stitching mine on.

The non-disney bags on Ebay are not a match quality-wise, they have softer pages. But for me, they do the trick as I do not carry my bags around - obviously since I am away from the parks and do not attend events
 

That sounds ADORABLE! If you have an opportunity, would you mind sharing a picture? I'd love to see it.

It doesn't need to be a HUGE pin bag, I don't have that many pins! It would mostly be a holding place I could store them before I framed the ones I wanted to frame. A smaller pin bag would be totally fine!! <3 And $40 is right in my price range!!
 

This is good information, thank you. I worried about ironing... glad I didn't melt anything attempting to do this on my own! I don't think I'd do much moving around, but the pins that I know are going in the bag are a bit heavier/bigger, so maybe I should try to stick with a Disney one... I don't mind paying what it's worth if it's going to last!!

As far as bags go, I too am bag shopping; but I prefer black! And maybe I'll sew an Eve patch up on there.

Let's find pin bags!! We can do it!! A black one would be really cute with an Eve patch and some stars... you could make it look like outer space! She's one of my favorite Pixar characters. I love Wall-E! (And if that's your baby on the lower left hand corner of your signature, that is one cute tiny person!)

Yes! I am engaged!! Though after last night when I thought my fiance threw out my PTE, I was nearly single again. (j/k, j/k, j/k I wouldn't ditch him over a pin, I promise!) We're the crazies having the Tangled themed wedding in October!!
 
I'm looking for a large pin bag. I have almost 100 pins now and my collection is still growing. Not willing to spend more than $40 though. Any help would be great!

I didn't know I was in such good company looking for pin bags!! I hope we're all able to find them, I didn't expect it to be so tricky to find these. Maybe my standards are just too high or I'm being too specific in my wants!! There are some listed on eBay, I'm just being picky.

A Tangled-themed wedding?!?! That would be awesome. I do weddings (like be the pastor for them), and my last one was Legend of Zelda themed! That was pretty fun.

Forgive Flynn in advance because, although this time he escaped, he's probably going to do some dumb things! But it's fair, because he'll have to roll with the punches with some of your stuff too! That's what marriage is all about! It makes you have to be a better person because you have nowhere to hide! He he he...

Oh yeah, and Evie is mine-- and quite a cute tiny person!

That's amazing!! We're having a lot of fun planning everything - I have a degree in theater (I focused on costumes) and while we are NOT doing any costumes for this wedding, focusing on the details has been awesome. I love our theme!! I love our bridal party!! I love my parents for putting up with me!! And most of all, Dan is a pretty awesome prince charming. He's very tolerant, and it's hard to stay mad at him for much of anything. As stressed out as I was about my missing pin last night, he was right there with me tearing apart the house trying to find it. We found it, but it was an important lesson in "properly store your valuables or you will spend your Sunday night in tears."

Zelda wedding sounds awesome. I'll have to hide this thread from him, I don't want him changing themes on me. <3 He proposed to me in the MK with the help of Rapunzel, and Tangled was our first Disney movie together, so it's a pretty big part of our love story.

Isn't it crazy how it grows?! My Tangled pins will always be on my walls, but I never realized how many other princess pins I have!! I'm lucky enough to be getting a mess of DLRP Princess pins and I want to keep them safe while I scheme up a way to display them!

I've decided outside of Tangled, I am limiting myself to refreshed-design Princess pins only. (LOVE their new looks!) We'll see how long that lasts!!
 


Of course! Here are a few quick pics I took (I'm no photographer, so excuse the bad quality/huge pics/poor angles/etc :lol

It's hot pink with a quilted Minnie head pattern all over, with a few little rhinestones sewn on the zipper:





It has 5 pages (double sided foam-like material) with velcro squares to keep them from sagging open, with page covers in between, as well as 2 mesh pockets in the back (which I forgot to take photos of :facepalm

Also, for size comparison, here's a picture of one of the pages with some pins that I saw were in your collection :lol: -

OMG. ATTENTION CALIFORNIA PEOPLE. I WANT THIS. o_o;;;

I wonder if this is still available?! I'm kind of obsessed with this. I love the quilting detail and the rhinestones are sooo cute. My luck, now that I've found one I totally love, it will be long gone from shops!! This is exactly what I'm after!!

I'd like to think she is. She loves Minnie Mouse...like LOVES her. So it was so cute to see her at DLR whenever she saw her in her house, at Goofy's kitchen, with her flight crew gals, and in the Christmas Parade!

She's Evelyn Rita Mannino. Evelyn's my wife's grandma's name, and Rita's my grandma's name. I love Eve because I love Evie.

I hope you share pics from your wedding! Sounds like it's going to be great.
 

That's so stinkin' cute!! I love little kids, they're so captivated and enthralled by so much! And I especially love that she's named for her grandmas, my grandmother was my best friend and I miss her sorely. <3

Wedding pictures to come. This wedding makes my head spin sometimes...
 
Thanks for posting, Dan! Those bags are great, I have a friend who is a diehard Figment fan, but alas, they're not quite what I'm looking for.

I think Clara has saved the day with this one - looks like she'll be picking up a hot pink pin bag for me at DLR!! <3 Thank you, PrincessxJasmine89 for sharing yours, and Clara for helping me get it! I can't wait!
