So I got this from pin pics the other day. This trade seems very lopsided to me. Mods if this is the wrong board please change it since I can't seem to post in the Trade board.

Other user offers Me this pin: Pin 66600 (WDW - Hidden Mickey Series III - Alphabet Ursula (U))

Well, your pin is a rack pin. Rack pin vs. Hidden mickey - if theirs is actually real, it might be an okay trade.
 
As with all trade it depends how you value the pins.

Lets say you are collecting the entire alphabet series and the Ursula U is the last one you need. You might just trade a rack pin that has upside down trade numbers (more people trading than wanting).

See now me personally, I don't really care for the hidden mickeys. There are very few I'd like for my collection. I don't value it as much. That's my opinion. At the end of the day you have to make the trade that put pins in your hands that you are happy with.
 
I don't regard hidden mickeys as anything sort after but that is just my opinion. I agree with starry that its not so much a lopsided trade since the UP pin is a rack pin but then again as Li said it might be fake so not worth the risk.
 
Hi. Just out of curiosity, did I offer that trade to you on pinpics? I sent out a load of requests yesterday and wondered if it was me who offered this trade as I know I offered out some trades for the Ellie badge and the ursula pin is one I have up for trade at the moment.
Like people have said I find that a fair trade is down to the opinion of each of the people involved in the trade. How much you want the pin, how much it goes for on ebay, how easily it trades, pinpics want/trades ratios. There are many different ways to judge how good a trade is but ultimately its your decision .

If it is me offering the trade then I'll send you some pics of the ursula pin and I can tell you how/where I got it
 
Another thing to consider is that pinpics (unfortunately) is not a perfect system. If I go in right now and find a pin I'm looking for and sed out several offers, that is an easy step for sure. But just the simple act of sending out those offers doesn't tell you to who those offers went to, and what exactly the offers were. The only way to find out this information is to review your pending trade requests which I don't think a lot of people do. Must just hit "what can I trade to get this pin" and click on everything available, because: "you never know."

While its not personally my style, it is done often enough. Sometimes they are even just simple errors. If you do not like the trade offer, feel free to ignore it, or reply with a friendly decline. Remember, there are a lot of new people out there also that are just learning pins and their values and how to trade. Help them learn so that they can become better.
 
I check before I send out..if it does not look right for both of us,I just delete it...saves me the trouble of getting bad responses or snotty ones
 

Hi everyone, i MUST ADMIT (dont yell) i do exactly this. For me, i figure "ya never know" and believe it or not, once in a while someone takes me up on something. In my case for example, i accidentally got 2 of the same LE pins (signs of serious pinaholic) and then i got a 3rd pin at a lot auction SO I would be super flexable on what i would trade cause i have freakin 3!!! Forgive me everyone i do make uneven offers but the yang is i often accept uneven offers. I think nobody should take in personally, just decline. Also some new traders dont get the whole whats equal thing, it took me almost a year.
 
If all else fails, make a counter offer. After all, Pinpics intitial purpose it to "start" negotiations. It could even be the beginning of a wonderful friendship.
 

This so much! More often than not, I send out trade requests without having the opportunity to see where they are going. I try to rectify it by adding a note saying something along the lines that I'm willing to trade multiples to make the trade fair just in case it doesn't come off that way.

Agreed! I've made more of my good trades with people willing to negotiate and make a trade we can both be happy with.

I love this post because this is me. If I offended you in the past, forgive me. I know not what I did.

Seriously, I sent out a few trade requests using that handy tool when I started out ... waaaayyyy back a whole month ago. I heard nothing but crickets. I even put disclaimers stating that I was a noob and if I was out of line to p,ease educate me ... Still nothing. I have since learned to shut the hell up, and if somebody wants one of my craptacular pins to let them come to me.

In the meantime I'm trying to build up something somewhat respectable, so bear with me.
 
I try NOT to send out unfair trades but I DO use pinpics just to see who is interested in a pin and maybe we can work something out.. and sometimes it works out and the Original pin was not even included in the trade
