new to this pin collecting stuff. Took my family to WDW a couple of years back it was during the year of a million dreams promotion and we won a laynard. We are heading back again this summer and my girls would like to start collecting pins. can anyone give me a quick lesson on what to do?????

Welcome to the forum . I think you should buy some cheap trader pins here on the forum because if you wait till you get to the park your going to pay 8-13 a pin . You can get some decent traders for $2-3 each. When you get to the park go to city hall and ask to look at there pins. Usually they will only show you there lanyards but ask to see there boards and they bring out all kinds of pins. And I have had good luck doing that I have gotten some really good pins

Hi there and welcome to the forum. Been a few years since I've last been so places have probably changed a bit to comment on where to check out.

If you're trading just for fun (and by fun, I don't mean that serious trading isn't fun.. I mean, just to swap pins out for whatever you see, buy an inexpensive set of pins). That way, they can trade with CM's and other people in the parks all day long. I tend to do themes, and when I'm done, I take a picture and move to the next theme.

How Do You Do, It's Good To See You and Welcome to the Forum. You can learn a ton of information about pin trading here and many members are very generous with sharing some of the pin trading tips. Just roam around, check out some threads and posts, get familiar with the forum, and be sure use the search tool and never hesitate to ask questions. Everyone is family here, so feel free to PM me as well if you ever need anything.

how do u know if u know the value of the pins?

Value of pins can change easily. Most people check eBay for a general idea. When trading is concerned though LE size, trade ratio and personal preference are taken into account.
