Hello,

I purchased a pair of WDI Disneyland restroom sign pins on ebay. I suspect they are fake and wanted to get a second (or multiple) opinion. I am new to collecting and still learning to spot non legit pins, I also don't buy Disney Pins outside of the US on ebay.

Comparing the recently purchased pins (w/the silver backing) to another pair that I own from the series, I noticed that the sorcer hats have borders unlike the ones I already own and the stamp is smaller and seems less defined. I am not sure if the sizes should match but the ones from ebay are slightly smaller. Any way the new pins I got from ebay can be authentic? Thanks in advanced!

That right one looks fake ,the box with the Disney stamp is smaller in size ,and by the looks of it ,cannot tell really as it could be the camera ,but it looks like (black marks ) on some of the hats,I cannot get on pinpics anymore to compare ,hopefully someonelse can.judy

Thanks! It does have some black marks on some of the hats, I have seen burn like marks on pins I have purchased from Disneyland but it is usually limited to the stem.

The silver one looks fake. Many of the WDI pins have borders....so that isn't really a determining factor. I haven't seen these pins in awhile to remember.

The seller said he purchased it at a Disney Store. Are cast pins checked for quality control or is that reserved only for pins released to the general public? Is it possible for a Disney store to accidentally sell counterfeits? I think I have seen pins returned at a Disney stores and I wonder how they can authenticate those.

Hi, All! I'm actually the seller in question. I actually didn't purchase it at a Disney Store, but Mickey's of Glendale at Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale. I just want to note that the purchase was not made at one of the Disney Stores that are in malls around the country. I contacted Mickey's of Glendale today to see if they had any resource that showed the back of the pins. Unfortunately, they don't have such a guide. I have basically been selling my collection to make ends meet and I only purchased pins from official Disney outlets. But, I cannot blame my customer for wondering. I, too, am wondering if it's possible for Mickey's of Glendale to have gotten some counterfeit pins at the time. Has anybody else had a similar experience? Or, is there somebody out there who has one of the Tomorrowland Restroom WDI Disney pins to compare.
