OK, I need help from the DPF community:

I did a trade back at the beginning of February with someone in France for a DA100 pin I had for a fairly rare PTN. They showed to have quite a few PTNs which might seem unusual, but he is in France so he might go to every event. We hashed out a trade and I mailed my pin, sent him the number, etc, and he said that his mom sent his out.

Well, I have yet to receive his pin, the pin I mailed him CAME back due to incorrect address, and while we have been e-mailing back and forth, he said he has no more of the pin even though he still has it on his traders, and making a rookie mistake, I did not check his feedback, of which he has 1 from late 2011. Should I re-mail his pin now once he re-verifies his address, or should I hold it until I get his pin, if it ever arrives. If he had removed it from his traders, I might be a little less leery, but he said he does not have it anymore, yet it is still there.

I don't know if France is different than the Netherlands, but I have traded with someone in the Netherlands and my pin arrived in about 2 weeks and hers(?) came in about 10 weeks. She was very patient and dealt with my anxiousness quite well, and it did arrive with no problems.

So, I guess I'm saying that all things being equal, your pin might get there quicker than their pin gets here. Anyone who has traded US/France may have better information than I do regarding the mail times. Come to think of it, I did BUY from a seller in France recently and those pins took about 8 weeks to arrive.

Did he say confirm that he/mom actually sent out the pin?

Hi Billy
I think I would onto it..thats more shipping you have to pay..if he has it on his traders..sounds like to(JMHO)they were not going to complete the trade at
I would hang onto it..and if you get yours ever..mail the one you were trading back..the envelope should have their addy on it
cut it off and use it

Hold on to it, because he needs to pay you for the shipping fee's for the second shipping as the address error was his.

I have a bad feeling about this, so hold it a while. He will understand your concerns if he's a good trader.

I've been waiting for 3 weeks for 2 Paris ptn pins from a trade with somebody in Belgium. I know that they've received the pins from me last week.

I would wait I have delt with other overseas and the trade or sale is 50/50 at best. I lost alot of money, unfortunately.

I agree with RFD. I'm still waiting for a pin from France that was mailed at the end of February. I've had some great trading experiences with overseas traders but I've also been ripped off by some as well.

If you feel uneasy about this, do a moderated trade with someone you trust. You both have to add the extra shipping but IMHO, it's worth the extra hassle. Pick someone you both have traded with that's willing to be "middle-man/woman" then there is no trust issue's on either person's part. Good luck with your trade.

In our experiences with foreign Pin Traders, their pins normally get to us before our pins get to them. Certain areas of the country are worse than others, but Belgium and France ALWAYS gets to us before ours gets to them. It seems the only problems we have with delayed shipments are from Hong Kong DL or Japan DL. Those 2 places normally take upwards of 3 weeks to get to us. The bad part of foreign trading is it costs so darn much to track foreign shipments. So, it's more of a wing and a prayer when you send those out as it costs as much to track foreign shipments as the pins do themselves.

oh boy, i kinda have a bad feeling, its already a pain to trade overseas, then the rong addy? weird and only 1 feedback for all this hassel. The pin you want will come your way i bet. just sayin, you will be pacing the floor for weeks wondering if you got ripped off.

Update: OK, I am still sitting on the pin that came back, and I have yet to receive their pin. After posting here, I e-mailed them about what to do and why they still show the pin on their traders on March 29th and they e-mailed back

I haven t removed it . . . But I go to Disney for the Next even . It is on April . I can try to find it ...

I am really sorry .

You can have a look on my ebay feedbacks

Link Removed

i don t often have this kind of problems .

Sorry again
and I replied

The problem is the e-bay name they list matches a different user on PinPics. Same name, except the one I am dealing with has 3 Us on the end and the link had 1 U on the end. I do not know if they are same user on PinPics or not, so I asked for other PinPics/Reference Center feedback, I had not heard back until yesterday, and this is what they said:

I then in turn replied:

What am I missing here besides the pin, LOL. Is there any more I can do or just count my blessings I got my pin back

Can you PM the person you are dealing with?like first or last name?even an email might help ...Why I am asking is:I have traded with several ppl from France
maybe I have their addy in my international trade box..

Judy

I should wait for your pin Billy. As you know I am from the Netherlands, and it takes 2 weeks to send and arrive over here to the US.
Sometimes it can take a bit longer, but never 2 months...

I sent you a PM. This does seem shady a bit. But, a pin I purchased on Ebay took 2,5 months to come from France. The mail stamp on it showed the date 2.5 months before the arrival date.
