Hi, i bought my first disney blind box today from hot topic, two christmas pixar characters blind box and a princess teacup one. Pulled mulan on the teacup and she's fine,and i pulled dug twice for the other one. Both of the christmas dugs have hair in the enamel, ones fine and not that noticeable, but one is rather noticeable at a close distance. I had bought them to be traders for my upcoming disney world trip, is it considered bad form to put a defected pin on the board at disney/ trade it? (if i traded it to a person, id obviously explain that its defect, but idk if people would be interested in trading for it at all) sorry the picture is kinda bad, my phones camera is not the best.
 
Most traders understand that Loungefly quality is what it is. If you put an authentic pin on a pin board, I guarantee another pin trader will snatch it right off, even with a flaw. Most Disney pins have production flaws, as they are cheaply, mass produced. Unless it's a high value pin, in a prominent spot, most people won't care.
 
I agree with others' input. But also want to offer a warrning. You have these great legitimate pins that anyone would love to see on a board. Part of the reason people would love to see them is that the vase majority of the pins on boards are fakes/scrappers. (Not everyone is as conscientious as you are unfortunately.) So when you go to put your pin on the board, be very careful with what you are taking off as it is highly probably it is a fake and it would be a shame for you to "trade down" that way. Of course, if you have no qualms about having a fake for your own collection and you just like the pin, have it! And have fun!

Oh, i knew fakes were a thing, but i didn't know they were that prevalent... i'll try and verify if its real, but on the other hand, if i find a cute pin i might just snatch it up anyways if i like it enough lol.
 
If WDW is anything like DLR, it will be 90-95% fakes on boards and lanyards unless you happen to catch one right after a refresh by a cast member. There's nothing cast can do to keep up weeding them out when so many people bring fake pins to trade.

My advice is to familiarize yourself with the current and recent Hidden Disney (Formerly Hidden Mickey) pins, as well as current booster sets, mystery boxes and mystery pouches. Those are the types of real pins you might be lucky to find.

Older Hidden Mickey pins are very likely to be fake.
