Hey everyone! I got a new job! Yay! The thing about this is that it's the job that I applied for back in March. I've been going through the process ever since. Some of you may remember that our dearly missed @Disneychildwithin (visit us again, Lucy!) was asking for advice months ago about a job at the sheriff's department and the oral board interview. I had just gone through my oral board for this job and was able to offer some tips. Well, I was chosen in August, had to go through deep background checks and medical and psychological testing and here we are in November and I passed everything and I'm finally about to start this job! I'm super excited and very nervous about it. In the last month, I interviewed, hired, and partially trained my replacement for a job that I had for 14+ years. Now I'm looking at this next week of being trained myself and praying that I don't mess up too badly. Thank you to some of you whom I confided in during the process. @Shelterkat @Connies_Hobby @pincrazy You three literally held my hands and gave me hugs of encouragement when I visited you at DLR. I appreciate you guys so much! Thank you for listening to me go on and on about how I thought I blew my chances at the job. And @Addicted to Alice Pins you were so amazing and for checking in on me during the process. And of course, thank you to anyone who contacted me and/or set up trades that I was too distracted to get back to you about immediately. If it hadn't been for you guys reminding me and pushing the trades onward, I might have let them fizzle out. Anyway, this is partially a happy announcement for the job, but also a testament that we really do have some of the most amazing and supportive people here on this forum. Thank you for letting me be part of such a wonderful community/family!
