When the rain stopped and we were allowed back into the water, my husband got me to go into the lazy river - if I went on Splash Mountain for you, you can do this - good point, so I went. It was a lot more fun than I thought! Very relaxing. So much so, that we decided to pass our stop and go again. Of course, halfway through the second round, a third thunderstorm moved in and with it being 25 minutes before the park closed, they were just closing up. We made it back to the patio right before it started dumping again.

Anyway, fun day at Blizzard Beach. I highly recommend it, even if you're not a water park fan!

The last two days were Universal days. We joined our friends the first day. Had fun. Rode Men in Black, saw the Harry Potter area in Universal. Second day, as we were riding to the parks, my svt heart issue acted up. It's usually gone in 10-20 minutes. My heart rate got up to 290. I laid down on a bench trying to get it to lower, but it didn't. Someone called the medic to come check on me. It lowered for a bit, but as soon as the medic left, it went back up. Josh and I decided to go back to the hotel room. It stayed active for about 4 hours! I took another pill and tried to fall asleep during that time. I finally "beared down" again, and it broke the cycle (long story short, I have an extra electrode pathway that causes my heart to race sometimes - it's not dangerous, but very annoying). So, we just stayed in the hotel room and rested.

Anyway, today, we check out of the hotel and went to Disney Springs for a bit with our friends. World of Disney, Polite Pig for lunch, Coca Cola and M&M store, Star Wars and Marvel stores. My husband and our friend each got a Millenium Falcon popcorn holder. Then we had gotten our alert our hotel at Yacht Club was ready, so we said good bye to our friends and we headed to the resort.

Holy crap y'all! We got a room that is the furthest away, but SO totally worth it!!! The room is huge compared to All Stars.

You can even see Spaceship Earth, sort of.

You and me! We'll be the best gunners together so long as we can find someone else to pilot!

So I’m not confident my son can stay fully upright in the seat by himself; and the last time we went, they didn’t add any other riders to our ride. So he had to pilot and I was gunner so I can keep a hand on him from behind to make sure he doesn’t jerk too fast side to side. AND, because that wasn’t enough fun, I had reach around him to grab the controls when he wasn’t flying in the upward direction.... not sure the algorithms were set to handle our destructive flight plan. Still loved the ride though.

Edit: and loving reading through all your posts. Glad you are having such a great trip and thanks for sharing.

So, it really is the little details that can make Disney so special. I didn't pay attention yesterday, but when I woke up, I noticed the pictures have Mickey heads and 71 for the WDW opening year.

I also saw yesterday that there were constellations on the curtains. This morning, I realized they were Disney characters (of course)!

I love the “Latin” names for the characters on the constellations!

Well, now I feel like I've visited wdw again.

Seriously, Dawn says I'd Love Blizzard Beach... I agree (with out the Thunder storms and humidity - if there is such a time there ).

I think I want to visit Universal Florida in the not to Distant future. It looks like fun.

Thank you for taking the time to share your wdw/universal vacation with us.

Dinner was great! If you haven't been there before, it really does feel like you're having dinner in a (nice) cellar.

The food was good. I'm not sure I'd say it was one of the best steakhouses we've been to, but it definitely wasn't bad. The waitstaff wasn't as friendly as I was expecting. Our server was fine, but watching the other tables, I'm glad I didn't get some of them.

We each ordered the filet mignon. We also had a side of maple glazed brussel sprouts and the signature poutine. The poutine was first and the finish it at the table by pouring a wine reduction over it. It was okay, but nit really my thing. I also pulled out what I thought was a cheese curd at first. Luckily, I didn't chomp down on it because turns out it was a softened clove of garlic that hadn't been diced.

The bread came next. A pretzel roll, a sourdough, abd a grain roll. I split the gain roll with my husband before I remembered to take a photo.

The filet was very good, had some pickled asparagus on top, which was a surprise. Ir was on some mushroom(?) risotto. The maple glazed brussel sprouts were divine! I like brussel sprouts to begin with, but these were charred so they melted in your mouth and the maple gave a great sweetness to them. Yum!

Then for dessert, we chose the maple leaf cheesecake. Our server let us know it was just shaped like a maple leaf, not maple flavored. Okay. It was good! It came dusted in cocoa powder and had a hardened chocolate base. The strawberries, cream, and shortbread cookies were wonderful!

All in all, it was okay. I'm not sure if I would desperately try to get the reservation next time, but I would eat here again.

So we talked about meeting up today, and we are still going to Epcot, eventually. But frankly, I'm exhausted (in a good way). So we probably won't be going to the Epcot resorts for pin trading, or a chance to meet if you were at DHS. So maybe we can plan the meetup and the lucky Pokemon trade the next time we are at the in-laws in Arlington.

If you're still in Epcotlater, lmk. We have plans to hop over there later. We have dining reservations at Coral Reef.

So.... We're having quite the day...

I had made reservations at Hollywood Studios today. We got up, late. Headed over there by boat, walked around a bit. It's hot. We decided to grab a bite and play some Pokemon. Then went back outside. Lines everywhere (I really miss fastpasses). We decide to try the Skyliner and purchase one of the Skyliner refillable mugs at the first stop, Caribbean Beach.

So, turns out, Skyliner is not my thing. I was terrified, had my eyes closed most of the time. For a bit, it was okay for me to look out the side, but other times, not so much. I did get a couple of photos. There was a line, so we couldn't wait for a character themed one, which I think might have helped, as someone had suggested.

Anyway, turns out the Skyliner is a little bit of a hike from the main lobby. We finally made it there to find out that the Skyliner mug was a limited edition and they don't have any. Boo.

Additionally, you can only get to Epcot and Hollywood Studios via Skyliner, so Josh and I are playing park/bus roulette. Whatever bus gets there first, that's the one we're on. It ended up being Animal Kingdom. (Note for anyone that would be interested: there is no direct bus from Caribbean Beach to Blizzard Beach. It says to get on the Animal Kingdom bus and transfer to Blizzard Beach - that totally explains why we saw SO many Blizzard Beach buses while we waited for ours.)

So, I tried it. I now know I shouldn't go on it. I've found that out on a lot of stuff this trip. Lol.

Finally all caught up! Awesome trip report!

We were actually in WDW from 5/9-5/16, just got back last night. We did 5 nights at Riviera (we started out apprehensive about the Skyliner but by the last day, we loved it and were sad to give it up) and 2 nights at Gran Destino after 7 nights at Aulani so we're exhausted. It was so incredibly hot for a few of those days for sure but I agree, the cast members were all incredible throughout the entire time. I wish they would have removed the mask mandate earlier in our stay but it was nice to have one day where we can walk around outside without wearing masks.

The bread service is amazing at Sanaa. I always make sure to get it every time we stay at AKL. My daughter and I love being the pilot on Smugglers but mostly because we are horrible at it and crash into everything. Honestly, it makes it more fun for us. My wife is a good gunner but couldn't go on it or several other rides since she's pregnant.

Amazing trip but I'm glad we don't have any plans to return until next June (when our newest addition will be old enough to cruise on the Wish) when hopefully more entertainment/attractions are open. We love the cavalcades but would obviously prefer Festival of Fantasy, Fantasmic, Harmonious, and Happily Ever After.

It sounds like you're also having an amazing trip! I can't wait to read more about your experiences!

We had dinner at Coral Reef last night. It was up and down. Josh is allergic to red shellfish, but he's the one who wanted to eat there.

I checked in via mobile and the table was ready immediately. All of the cast members were wonderful! Josh and I rarely have luck with seating locations. We were seated at a booth along the back wall away from the aquariums. The booth had a couple of kernels of corn. Eww. I probably should have said something, but I rarely do, and I swept the corn away to sit down. There was also a bit of a mess at our neighbor's table - there looked to be crumbled cookie or something on the floor next to their chair (it wasn't theirs. They hadn't eaten yet.)

Anyway, we both ordered the mahi mahi. It comes with coconut rice and a mango shrimp salsa sauce. The chef was kind enough to make an adjustment to have no shrimp on Josh's. Of course, I was worried for his first few bites, but it was perfect! We had the Bailey's Jack Daniels creme for dessert. Yum!

Towards the end of the meal, we heard a little girl squeal with delight when a shark or ray swam by in the aquarium. That just filled my heart with joy! I'm so happy she got to sit close and watch the fish.

I also had ordered a chocolate martini. It was... okay. A little like drinking lighter fluid. I realized toward the end that the ones I'd had before had a chocolate syrup swirl on the inside of the glass, so that had probably softened the sting. Lol

One question I had, we stayed 5 nights at Yacht Club in February and didn't notice the curtains at all. Is that only for specific rooms or are we just that oblivious?

Hmm, not sure. That was our first time staying there. We had a water view room. The curtains were very helpful as we had a bright "street" light outside the room.

It's been a few days since we arrived home, but I suppose I should finish.

The last few days we were there, the mask mandate was lessened and I'd say about 80% of people were walking around without masks outside. It was still very hot, so it was welcome to not have to wear the mask all of the time.

We checked the pin board at the Yacht Club store, but there were only scrappers when we looked, so we didn't get to trade pins there.

On our last day, we headed over to Epcot to check on the pin release that day and stop at a couple of the food stands that we had missed.

When we walked over the bridge, the princesses were passing by in their carriage. So, we waited and then followed them as they went through Britain on their way to Canada. But as we walked through Britain, I was distracted and had to stop to take a picture of Alice! That was the first time we had seen her this trip.

Then we stopped by the honey stand to try a couple of items - the corn spoon bread and the honey cheesecake. Both were fantastic! And I finally found the Spike sipper! Perfect to go with the Orange Bird sipper I had gotten a couple of days before. We sat in the little garden area for a bit while we ate. The honey in the center of the cheesecake was kind of glittering. Neat!

We didn't see a new pin in the case, but the cast member told us that the Taurus Magic in the Stars was released that day. We bought a couple of those each as well as more of the Rescuers puzzle pieces. Our last chance to finish the collection. Unfortunately, we are still short one of the chasers and the Bianca piece.

I'll add more when I get a chance (company coming over soon).
