I figured the weekends wouldn't see action. So far I've had five pins that I traded for be flagged as flawed. Only one of those is a real flaw, though. The other four are just needlepoint paint under the enamel that would be in then at point of purchase. Loungefly pins probably could never pass inspection by anyone. And new Disney pins, too, actually . . . I could nit-pick them with a list as long as your arm for QC. The one that was scratched is a really old (way before pin trading) one and it is for a friend because it is more of a fun souvenir than a pin for trading, so I accepted it without hesitation! :)

I am in there. I don’t think anyone is missing too much. Kind of the standard trading event; largely blind box, OEs, etc just fewer pins listed since we were limited to fewer on our tables
Yeah, I am in the beta this weekend as well. I agree. You are not missing too much. Everyone is just testing out the system so limited pins being offered. Nothing too new on pins on the boards. Tokens were not part of the test, so still not sure how it will play out.

I am also waiting on the pins I sent in to get inspected, though they are marked that they were received as of 5-19. I think Jenn has just been busy with some personal stuff, making the process this time take longer.

About half of mine are inspected. I imagine they were also busy this weekend with the test event and it may pick up this week.

A few of mine have been inspected, but most are still waiting. But, a few I traded for haven't even arrived yet (or been marked as arrived), so still more to wait on! I was really happy that one of the two pins I really want to work out from this event was totally accepted and only has to be mailed! :) So, one is coming!

On this last event I made 23 trades. I had a table and made 10 trades that way and 13 from me offering pins (to mix up my traders). So with having VIP membership and increasing our 30 pins to 50 to list on tables, maybe I wouldn’t need to make offers on other pins. I mostly did that to make it worth while for purchasing a table.

I’m still hoping they implement being able to offer multiple pins for higher end pins - they’re more of my wants.
Edit only traded 17. 1 magically disappeared - I wish there was a reason given. So down to 16 trades and 3 were flawed. I still accepted, not major flaws.

I ended up with 23 trades (down from 33). I accepted some flaws for pins I need to complete sets but several of them were flaws near the eyes or scrappers - which I couldn’t accept… I wonder if the new system will be better since you have to pay per trade and in order for it to be successful, you probably wouldn’t send flawed pins. It might mean less trades but hopefully better quality.

I ended with 37 trades - down from 39, but got re-trade offers for the two (which ended up being better for me than the originals!). A few marked as flawed, but one was a corner missing from a card, a few were obvious manufacturing issues and not "flaws" from the trader, etc. Only one of the two was an iffy as far as scrapper. Very happy with this event, I have to say! Sis and I each got a pin we've been trying for for a long time and really wanting! And some others that are super fun and some to swap out traders. :)

One did for me, as well. I asked and she said they are working on getting this changed so that you could see them.
Oh that's a great option! There are a few pins that I turned down due a variety of reasons and always feel bad for not being able to explain why to the other party. I'm glad this option is being considered for future events.

We are still waiting on about 4 pins to be approved/show up at PinandPop and after a recent post from Jenn on Facebook stating that some packages have been delayed due to a stomach bug going around I'm 100% ok with waiting if that's the case. I'd much rather have everyone healthy than have the pins and worry.

So the cancelled trade is now showing. Its a nice feature, just wish it also came with a reason (which should only be if flawed or scrapper - not that you changed your mind). I know mine wasn’t a fake.

I see mine now too, but I am the one who chose not to go through because of a flaw. I agree. You should not be able to change your mind.

Some of mine haven't been received yet, does that possibly mean an overseas person? I know I could ask, but I don't want to bug them.

I also agree about changing your mind. I have only ever canceled a trade because of a flaw. But with that said I had 5 flawed pins this time around - and there is now a spot to indicate any flaws when you post the pin.

I had 5 cancellations; 2 by us (scrapper and major blemish on an authentic) and the other 3 were cancelled by other traders. Those trades were Disney Parks for other pins and, although I am sad for those trades to not go through, I look at this as an opportunity to trade for something even better with what will be returned to me. There was nothing wrong with the pins I sent in but perhaps someone saw something I missed. It would be nice to disclose flaws on pins being offered up during the events.

Possibly. Jenn also made a post that some packages were delayed in shipping because some participants had a stomach bug and didn’t want to jeopardize or risk the health of Jenn and her team with possibly germ-ridden pins.

This is a new feature, not sure how you indicate this. Hopefully a tutorial will be added like all the other tutorials For us more challenged members with technology.

Is it just me or was there a rise in flawed pins for this event? My total for cancelled pins rose up a rank today and I'm slightly annoyed Disney keeps allowing flaws to pass through. I was really excited for all of the pins that I had to cancel due to manufacturing errors and I feel bad that the person who I was supposed to trade with won't be getting the pin they wanted from me but I can only let so much slide with pin quality from Disney. It's not the trader's fault and I wish I could express that. Hopefully traders will consider using the note section for the next event to help others determine if they would like to trade for flawed but authentic pins.

I think when it comes to manufacturing issues that that is between the person and Disney. Not the other trader's fault. Disney has been doing poor quality pins for years now, if you can't be happy with them, then I think it has to be each trader's decision to have fun trading for the pins as they are sold or not do it at all. Disney is like it or lump it, and since you get no option as a buyer to exchange for what is termed "flaw" other than loose or bent pin, I think traders should understand and accept manufacturing flaws or just not really trade online. It ruins the fun of pin trading when it becomes an investment scrutinization rather than a trade. I'm not getting personal here, just so sad at how the world of trading seems to be dwelling more on the negative side rather than the fun of it. Disney doesn't care about quality and that means that manufacturing flaws shouldn't be seen as true "flaws". Blame QC, but not pull it into trading.

Just my soap box. Nothing worse than trading when someone is looking a pin under a microscope when they couldn't even buy one from Disney that is better. When we first got into trading and learned about Loungefly and Hot Topic pins, and a lot of the mystery sets . . . so many longer-time traders nicely explained QC issues common on those pins and it was something so you didn't have to worry about issues like that. What happened to that mindset? I just get sad at how everything these days looks on the downside even on a good thing.

Personally, I think I got 7 flawed pin alerts on P&P. I only rejected one, as it looked like the scrapper version I have. All the others were Disney QC issues. I even wrote to Jenn and told her I didn't need alerts for issues like several of them. She checked pin posts for me in particular. I don't want to pick over a Loungefly pin or a Disney Mystery set pin looking for what is wrong below the final enamel. Talk about getting me dpressed. I don't know if I'm the only one who feels like this, but if there are others, then you aren't alone.

Here they are! :) They are amazing! Tons look way better in person than the pictures showed. Pins definitely don't photograph like they look in real life! Also . . . big surprise - I thought Count Dooku was one of the normal sized Funko pins like the Mando ones! Was I shocked when I unwrapped the box! Some of these are keepers, others are to trade and some are in the air!

The two on the left are the PRIZES of the event! Two grails . . . Sis has wanted "Born to Shop" for years and I've been sending out so many trade requests for years! And I've been wanting the RV pin since it came out, since it reminds me of Sis and Me in Gramma and Grampa's RV!

The two on the right . . . I'm really (really) looking for the Mickey pins to match, so if anyone has either or both to trade, let me know! :)

I think there are many types of traders out there. Some don’t care about the quality or minor flaws and some do. I’m in the middle depending on the set. When I get a flawed pin from Disney / Loungefly/ hot topic / box lunch, I actually contact them for a refund or replacement (and most of the time I do get something back). Those pins get put aside (I don’t trade them or the very least I disclose it), so my expectations are others don’t trade them as well.

I think what might work better for P&P is to display Trader Stats - how many pins a trader won successfully, how many they declined and how many others rejected their pins. They should expose the trader name as well. When you’re not anonymous and you have actual stats, you’re less likely to trade scrappers or flawed pins. The trader can also make informed decisions based on your trade history. If I see a trader declines 40% of the time - I might not want to offer a trade with them.

I like the statistics option.
