So my husband and I have been trading for a year now and we have pin bags. At the events (or just around) we see a lot of traders who have pin bags with cork board inside. So we have been looking for where to buy the cork board, but we really don't know much about it. Please help us out by posting your pin essentials and where you buy them. Thank you.

You can buy blank cork at walmart in a 5 pack for like $8 to $9 and cut it to size, or foam board. If you get foam board wrap it in duct tape

I use corrugated plastic and wrap it in duct tape. I tried the cork and the plastic by itself, but the pins still fell out. Then somebody told me about wrapping the plastic sheets in duct tape and now the pins stay in really well. Good luck with whatever you try!
 
Wow thank you guys so much, this is amazing. So many ideas, all I've ever thought of was cork board. I have no imagination lol

Get 1 large sheet of foam core from mickeals it will only run you a few dollars and you can cut it down easily. My suggestion though would be to cut it with an exact blade and ruler over sciccors

The adhesive from the duct tape doesn't make the pins sticky?
 
My go to's:
Hobby Lobby (cork board and shadow boxes for my pin displays). (Always, download coupons from Hobby Lobby web site.)
Amazon: usually buy the 2-4 inch ZIP (they have to zip) binders (usually Case-It) and 3-hole punched trading card sleeves (9 pockets, 6 pockets, 4 pockets and 2 pockets). I also buy coin trading 3-hole punched sleeves for pins without backing cards (hidden mickey, mystery pins, etc.) Coin sheets are better made for the weight of pins.

But if you are just browsing you may find deals on your pin trading support paraphernalia:
Joann's: found some clearance shadow boxes (8X8) for less than $5.
Staples: found some 3 inch zip binders on clearance for $6 each.

That's really good to know - I bought a giant sheet of this stuff a long while back to make boards from and haven't done anything with them yet because I was worried about this problem. Thanks for the solution!

I used coroplast as well and love it. Cork tends to crumble over time; coroplast is tough.

But I recently switched pin bags, and now use a Pinfolio Pro... HIGHLY recommend it. You don’t need foam, cork, coroplast or anything - You just stick the pins in each page, no backs needed.

Really nice, lightweight, and it holds a LOT of pins. (There are smaller ones available too!) You can carry it by a handle like a briefcase, or wear it as a crossbody or backpack.

I also love the fact that these bags were thought up, created, and sold by a family of actual pin traders.

They sell their bags on both Etsy and eBay, if anyone’s interested. (Just search for Pinfolio.)

I started experimenting not too long ago and tried cork and foam board. The foam board didn’t work for me at all - didn’t hold the pins. But, it was cheap - poster size piece from the Dollar Tree for $1. I got my cork from Michaels - pack of 4 thick square tiles was $4 (I think) with a downloadable coupon. Did make my pin book a bit fat, so I didn’t insert between all the pages. Never heard of coroplast, so I’m going to check that out.

I'm not sure what I would use for that purpose. The only boards I have for pins are actual cork bulletin boards with the wood frames. I wish you luck!

When you do make sure to post step by step pics...I'm a visual learner.

Sidenote, am I the only one saying chloroplast instead of coroplast?
