Starting Monday, May 16, 2011 Pin Pics moderators will be moving all non-factual comments left on pin listings to www.pintalk.com. Pin Pics is a database of information not a discussion board. When a discussion gets going and multiple comments get added to a pin's listing it creates more work for the moderators as they have to remove them. On a discussion board they do not. If you have FACTUAL information about a pin feel free to add it to the pin's listing in the form of a comment. If you have a question about the pin (has it been scrapped?, what color is the metal? how big is it?, etc.) please post it on Pin Talk or another pin discussion forum. Once the question is answered the information can be added as a comment.

On Monday any comments asking a question will be moved and will be edited to read "Moved to www.pintalk.com". Starting on Monday June 6th they will no longer be moved but will be edited to read "Please post questions on www.pintalk.com."

Below are directions on how to post a link and how to copy the pin's picture URL so you can add it to the thread.

To get the URL of the pin's picture:

1. Right click on the image.
2. Click on Copy image location

To add the picture to your post:

1. Click on the insert image icon on the tool bar.
2. Paste the URL in the box and hit OK.

To add a link to the pin's listing:

1. Copy the URL as it appears in the address bar of your browser.
2. Click on the Inset Link button on the tool bar and paste the URL in the box.

Remember the moderators are volunteers and while this may be a little more work for you it saves us time that we could be using to do other things to enhance the information in the database.

Thanks,
The Pin Pics Staff

Makes sense. Sometimes those comments were asking some rather random questions. Any way to attach a sub-forum under the pins, so we don't have to leave pinpics in order to discuss a pin? If every pin was given a thread on Pin Talk, it might be hard to find a specific discussion on a specific pin.
