What exactly are you doing now?
 

Hi Chris! Not sure if this is on your list yet but I noticed if a trade is accepted via second chance board, it’s not flipping the pin tag from trader to traded. If you go into the log book it does show it’s been traded, but it’s also staying active in your list of traders. Attached photos of 2 examples (Pooh and Archimedes owl pins)

Heya! (Pin and Pop mod here for those who don't know since I'm a serial lurker). To clarify: are you asking what the current submission process is or something else?

If current submission process, I can answer that. Pin listings are posted as soon as they're submitted. There's currently no review process. I think we've talked about it before but a) we don't want to be too stifling and b) as Chris said, we don't want people to be working hard on listings that may have already been submitted and are sitting in a queue. We haven't finished backfilling the database yet so it would become a pretty large queue vs if we had our database up to date to this point and were only looking at brand new releases and very rare pin submissions.

For duplicates, we rely on people reporting them when they see them (we look for them too), mostly. Chris also has a tool built that searches the database for duplicate PTDB and MPC ID numbers and will automatically flag those as duplicates for us to review, though those also require the people submitting the pins to be adding those IDs. I think it also combs for similar names/series but I'm not positive. Our current duplicates queue is 511 pins.

@Randakinskywalker is correct (and one of our amazing mods). As for a possible solution to the issue, I think we need to figure out how to empower more people to be able to make corrections without putting more pressure on the mods to fix the mistakes and also prevent destructive changes that can result from making it too open. The mods have a great sense of how to keep it all consistent so if we could get more contributors to collaborate with our mods - and develop more tooling to assist that collaboration - then we'd probably have something more scalable and sustainable.

It would be very helpful to see a list of 2nd chance pins I have made offers on as well as the expiration dates of those offers to maximize shipping. If this already exists, I can’t find it anywhere.

And I love the new simplified menus!
 
Similar to the issue with pins that have been traded on the second chance board not listing as traded, I’m getting a thing where pins I’ve traded are still options to offer on other pins?

Hello! Any new canceled pins are showing up in the listing tab at first, and when i click on 'list on second chance' they don't show up on the next page or register as 'at pin and pop' when i try to make an offer with it. Thanks so much for all that you do!
 
Can you check this again and confirm it's fixed for you?

This has happened in the past when a pin that was at Pin & Pop was removed/deleted from someone's collection, which shouldn't be able to happen either (but I think there was a bug that allowed users to remove pins that were still in a pending trade process).
 
Oh no, its for sure my fault then, I defentify did that last month, trying to organize it better in my mind, like right before the Second chance board too 🤦‍♀️ I was worried it would mess things up, but since it let me, I thought it was fine(especially since I didn't know about the 2nd chance board then/think about how that would effect it). What you did yesterday worked, but I had 2 others cancel today and they are not there. I feel so bad now, especially since I did that with all my March trades too! I won't ever do that in the future. Im assuming it wouldnt help to add them all back since the trade number wont be associated with it anymore?
 
I really wish there was a way to see just one table/board filled with all of your wants across the hundreds of tables.

I love me a good P&P event but sifting through countless tables and trade bulk to try to find my main “wants” is a bit time consuming.
 
I think our bug should be fixed but let me know if you find that you're still able to remove pins from your collection that are at Pin & Pop. We have a very robust custom-built inventory management system so that we know where all 10,000+ pins are and which trades they're associated with but I had missed something on the Log Book side that allowed for removal even though the pins were still "in play". Our ability to track and process the pin was unaffected but it did prevent legitimate listings or offers on the Second Chance Board for pins of canceled trades.

I should've slapped a "BETA" tag on the Second Chance Board when it launched but I think we've got most of the annoying issues worked out and can focus on some feature improvements now (fingers crossed).

As I am trying to inventory pins I purchased from a Japanese retailer, I am reminded I wish the Log Book would record “price paid” in other currencies like we can input them in the pin page.

Also a tick box to indicate we purchased it New, from source. And that the Backer Card tick boxes weren’t the last thing in the Log Book. These matter for more than just Traders and even if it was the first thing listed under Public Information it would require a lot less scrolling when trying to inventory large amounts of pins in a sitting.
 
I’m trying to list this on 2nd chance, but when I click “list on 2nd chance,” the 2nd chance listing page opens but this pin doesn’t show up.

Maybe a crazy idea here, but what if VIP members (or maybe VIP+?) were able to keep x number of pins at Pin & Pop that we know we are going to put on our table at the next arcade? That would eliminate shipping and verifying the same pins repeatedly. It could be an add-on bonus feature or something to keep it from getting totally out of control. By charging a small fee for this service, you could generate more income while also reducing workload. And it would be very cool if traders could see on the table that the pin is there and already verified authentic.

I'm having problems with that too. It seems to be a circular process that doesn't actually remove the pin. I think my pin is stuck there forever, and being one of the first listed, stuck in oblivion never to be seen again.

There are 2 different ways you can remove Second Chance listings both from your listings page (Active Listings box in your dashboard)
1. On the pin you want to remove, click the options link in the top right (3 vertical dots) - then use the Remove from 2nd Chance option
2. Click into the pin and use the Remove from 2nd Chance button at the bottom

Let me know if you're using those methods but getting an error (I just tested it and it looks to be functioning correctly)

I was clicking on the listing early, not getting a response- mus have been a browser error.
I cleared everything & was able to click on the listing and hit on " remove" and that worked out.

The year 2126. "Hey, what's with that pin on the second chance board. It keeps appearing there. Seems like it's been there forever." "Oh aye. That be the ghost pin of traders past. Tale tells of a trader, way back when the site was a mere laddie, who tried to use the feature 'ere it were ready and the pin was sucked from their grasp into the maw of the code where it remains trapped to this day." Shiver.
 

It really is a ghost. It seems to be both listed and not listed.

Mine have been removed from the 2nd chance.
I have a partial shipment from March on the way, but had no clue they were being sent until I checked my email. If I had Id have taken those down and be sent back with that lot.


So maybe add to this 2nd chance deal if you got pins lsted, a heads up that a shipment's being made so if you change your mind and want them back can be added to shipment?

So I see the Series page has been updated. My immediate issue is that the Default for this page is no longer sorted by Release Date, which I presume is the a preferred method for people to review pins in a Series. They want to see either the Newest or the Oldest, just as long as it goes in a sequential order. And in order to change to to a Release Date sort, you have to scroll all the way down the filter list, and then all the way back up to hit the apply filter button.
