I am going to see if @ryanfury can disable this...
The ornaments are in PTDB twice...
So I just redownloaded the add-on from the Chrome Web Store and it still works for me:
If it's no longer working for you, perhaps uninstall/delete the add-on from your browser, and then re-install it again?
I didn't know about this, so I'm glad it was brought up again. Just downloaded it, and it's working great on my Chrome. Thanks!
Personally, I much prefer the way of adding pins to PTDB than PinPics. I find PinPics no intuitive, and I'm a little bummed with them right now. I spent a whole weekend doing white-background photos of pin, writing out full descriptions, filling out their forms . . . and not one is up yet. Just a bunch of PinPics Facebook stuff that's not really better than uploading Fantasy pins instead of the official Disney Mystery boxes. If only more people would add wants/trades and work on PTDB.
Yes, you sum up the issue well. Do all the work and see no results. Pinpics has other priorities now. Definitely Pinpics' choice, but same goes for me. My choice is to engage or not. For uploading pins... I have selected 'not'.
What is that saying? I think... 'You cannot change someone else, you can only change yourself.'
It was so odd... the link kept taking me to shopdisney.com random items for sale and then after about 5 tries it finally took me to the add-on.
Anyway... I have it back! Thank you!
OK, I'll go look through the listings. I still have to add "Baby Yoda and Grogu" on the other pins.
@starry_solo Is an added comment included in search results? If so, I could add the "Baby Yoda" and "Grogu" in comments on the pins for you. Would be glad to help!
I have no idea. I've never looked to see if added comments are searchable if it's not in the regular description. It's ok, I only have about 20 left to go through.
As far as i can tell, it isn't part of the search results. I wonder if ryanfury could add that or if it would be too time
wow... 20 left... nice!
All done with Baby Yoda and Grogu. Note, if you search for Baby Yoda, you will get 105-ish pins. And about 5 less for Grogu. But some of the Baby Yoda pins are not Baby Yoda at all, but part of a set of pins. So I need to go fix those descriptions.
@TheMickeyMouseRules : which ornament pins are you talking about being duplicated? Could you send me a list?
This is the set of 25 (24 pins and the box) I added at the end of October (this weekend I added actual pictures of the pins and some additional search terms):
WDW/DLR/DLP/DS - Disney's Favorites Countdown Calendar 2020
EX: 37372 is the Mickey Mouse pin from this set
This is the set of 25 (24 pins and the box) added in mid November by another user:
World of Disney Holiday 2020 Advent Calendar Ornament Pin Collection
EX: 37844 is the Mickey Mouse pin from the second set
OK, I will take care of this. Also, will change the title to "Disney Parks"
OK, all pins titles' have been changed and the listings merge so there should not be any duplicates of those ornaments / advent calendar pins.
You do such a great job on PTDB! Thanks for all the hard work.
Thanks! BTW, I did find out that comments don't show up in search terms. I have no idea how to delete comments either
Thanks for working so hard @starry_solo !
How do I delete a pin listing I created? I made a dupe. Forgot to look it up first
So far this is what I do (no one has corrected me.)
- Since I can edit the postings, I add I just find another pin to add and edit the duplicate listing with the new pins info.
Yup! This is the best way to do it, that way you can still use the number that was created. When I delete pin listings and merge pin listings (merge is when there are duplicates and both listings have people that want/trade/own the pin, I put them together), one listing is gone and the number cannot be used again.
So, @ryanfury started a discord server page for PTDB. Here is the link:
Join the Pin Trading Database Discord Server!!
What is a discord server? (Sorry I am so not tech savvy.)
Me neither, but it's apparently a way to group chat
Separate names with a comma.
