Premiere Birthstone Series Question

Hi everyone.

So, I recently acquired this pin, but I am afraid something is wrong with it.

However, if you look on pinpics, it says that they were released in 2003, but my backstamp has 2005.

Also, the pin is supposed to have a darker emerald birthstone, not the lighter one.



Here is a picture on ebay that looks like the pinpics picture....



To me, this looks like a real one above. Now, my pin post has two nubs, but this one doesn't.

I also feel like this pin is lighter as I have the Tinker Bell one in the series and have previously seen Belle.

So, what do you think? Do you think there could be a reissue of these pins which caused for the different backstamp? Or are these just fakes?

As far as I've read, there hasn't been a scrapper alert on this series. I think they were open edition, so they could have been produced during different years (like open rack pins I've seen have had 2008 and 2006 backstamps, and slightly different sparkle/swirl patterns, and slightly darker or lighter tones, but the same pose / same look).

Are you sure you have the correct Tinker Bell of that series? (Sorry I'm using pinpic numbers because it's harder to search on dpp) Pin 53768: HKDL - April Birthstone - Tinker Bell Oval is very similar Tinker Bell pin to Pin 22740: Princess Premiere Birthstone (Tinker Bell/August), and if I'm not mistaken the HKDL one is thicker.

They were issued in different years and some have darker or lighter stones. I learned this because I collect these and I was worried that my Alice pin didn't look like any of the photos. There are no scrapper alerts that I know of.

There was 2 releases of this pin series. The second release some of the pins didn't have as nice of gems in them. I remember these when they came out and I have had both versions of several of the pins on their original cards. Hope this helps.

Yeah, this is all what I've heard as well. Your later backstamp is fine because of the second release. I haven't heard of any scrappers for this series. Congrats on getting Esmeralda, she's lovely (whether she has a darker or lighter stone, lol)!
